To 14 or to 15 or to not at all?!?!
I have a 13 that I've had for about 18 months. I had planned to order a 15 when they switch over in the summer and keep that until the next M5 comes out (3-4 years).
The deals on 14's right now are strong. Just as a starting point, its an easy 5% off sticker. I had planned to order Frozen Silver.... otherwise options would be basically loaded except for the carbon brakes. Sticker about $119k plus the charge for the frozen silver paint. So, there are plenty of cars out there now with the options I want in a variety of colors. Whats your opinion? Pick up a 14 at a decent discount? wait and order a 15 with little or no discount but will be exactly what I want? Hold on to my 13 and decide what to do in another 18 months? |

If this was 13 or 14 LCI decision absolutely would have advised you to wait but not the case and I don't know of any hardware change to come, Do you? I would ask for 10%+ discount and plus 1500$ incentives too |

I say 2015. We're only less than 6 months from the new model year. They're going to update SOMETHING on the 2015 F10 M5, they always do for each model year. Although I have no idea what they might update.
Who knows, they might offer a Carbon Fiber Roof option or something crazy. I mean they came out with a whole Competition Package for 2014. Why not something else to make 2014 owners want to trade in and waste more money. Lol! Hold out a few more months, get the 2015, then get the second model year G30 M5 which will be the 2020 M5 which will be available like Fall of 2019.

I'm w RPiM5 - few months from '15 - I say you wait and see. Most likely it'll just be an update to iDrive, but why miss out on that? If no change, you've just "lost" a few months in the '14 - but it's not like you're schlepping around in a '03 Honda Accord. You've got a '13 M5. There isn't enough difference to warrant an early swap, IMHO.

BMW has always updated something every model year. For example, the E60 M5..
2005 Model Year - Standard key ignition replaced with start/stop button. New key. 2006 Model Year - AUX input added to audio system - 6 speed MT intro for NA vehicles - TPM replaces flat tire monitor - HD radio offered - Enhancements to nav offered 2007 Model Year - Headlights updated - Taillights updated - Front airdam and wheels updated - Upgraded interior trim materials - Revised center console and door - Memory buttons added to iDrive - Active bolsters introduced - Soft close doors introduced - Premium sound introduced - iPod/USB option introduced - Heated steering wheel introduced - Space Grey replaced Silver Grey - Monaco Blue introduced - HBA system introduced - Disable DSC on 6MT introduced 2008 Model Year - Updated iDrive controller - Carbon Black Metallic introduced 2009 Model Year - iDrive V2.0 w/ HDD + 3D Screen - ConnectedDrive for ECE M5's - EfficientDynamics for ECE M5's - Larger exterior side mirrors This doesn't include technical updates that you don't notice. For example, my 2010 M5 was super reliable and drove just better in everyday compared to my 2008.
