Cheapest option for a little more aggressive sound?

Gonna pass on giving the whole stock exhaust is too quiet speech and cut to the chase...

what are our options for a more aggressive sound than stock? as far as a midpipe or cat back..I assume a full Essinmann or Akra is way too expensive as I am not spending close to $10k for an exhuast. I looked into Turner Test Pipes but it seems too quiet...maybe I am wrong.

What do you guys think?

All responses appreciated!!

There is a sticky thread on exhaust...

http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=643445

I believe that Remus or Supersprint might be in the more economical end of the exhaust options. Remus is the company that also makes the AC Schnitzer exhaust BTW, but those sell at a much higher price...

Cheapest option is probably to buy CP mufflers off someone, or have a welder modify the OEM muffler to get rid of the baffling. Turner is probably that cheap too.

cheapest option is to cut out resonators!
no drone, much louder, sickening cracks! if u pair it with carless do's! u will be smiling 24/7

easy to weld resonators back, when u gonna sell the car, but bmw won't even notice, so u r good

The cheapest option to mildly bump the sound is the exhaustmeister. It controls the baffles and does make the car louder.

Thanks for the response everybody!

Looked into the Exhaustmeister and it is exactly like something I was looking for as it retains stock components. Thanks again!!

Baffles are fixed. The switch controls the valve in the tailpipe.

None that I am aware of. All it does is overide when the valves are opened. With it "on", the valves stay open. With it off, the valves operate normally and open and close as dictated by the car/software. Took me about 15 minutes to install and I programmed the "open" function to the third Homelink button.

I am in south-west Westchester - about 10 minutes form the TPZ bridge. I could always meet up with you if you want to see it. For the price, it is great.

Sure thing. It is easily removable, which is also nice. During the winter, I am generally in VT on weekends, but would totally be up for meeting one night for a beer somewhere once this snow and ice is gone.

Traded in M5 exhaust meister fore sale

I just traded in my 2013 m5 . I had recently installed the exhaust meister
and was very happy with the results. The installation was easy took about 15 minutes. No engine codes popped up. When the system was off the exhaust operated as it did before the install. When valve was switched on the exhaust sound was much more aggressive . Much more noticeable at lower rpms .I'm looking to sell the unit for $100.00 shipped in the us. Send me a message if your interested . I also have the stock m5 kidney grills for sale as we'll.

Vhroom. Vhroom. Vhroom. Snap Crackle Pop!

Just adding another option.

I would have to hear it in person. You know how hard it is to judge an exhaust from a video.
