I put down 20 more torque on a dyno that me and my friend did. He's got an M5 with e race axle back. I have full Akra and gruppe M Intake. Other than that we are the same. I don't know which out of the 2 or if it was just the combo that made the difference but it's definitely a substantial difference.

A lot of small mods add up to big performance. Especially on our wave runners which our speeds are up to 100 mph now.

Hunter, I thought you put down 614 or 615 torque? I put down 597, which puts you at just under 20 more than myself. An impressive feat, nonetheless. And like you said you have a full Akra compared to my e-race axle back, and you have the Gruppe M intake, and I do not.

I guess so, I didn't recall your TQ number exactly. Yeah I wasn't comparing exhaust because axle vs full is not a comparison. I was talking about the combination of the intake system with a full exhaust. Could be any exhaust. And I will do another dyno as well with proper gear pulls to verify actual power. I don't consider my dyno run 100% legit do to the 4th gear pulls. So we'll see. M54 had posted only a 5hp gain after installing Akra but a much higher gain after removing his CF. I know you had your CF's removed as well an that is why I'm not sure what the reason was in the difference in TQ. Could the gruppe M improve performance that much over CF delete?? That's why I want to do another dyno.

I agree with this Hunter5179. Improvement is on the intake. The CF are very restrictive...and by either removing them (or going Gruppe-M) there is a again. FWIW, I don't think my dyno numbers are accurate but they do illustrate gains from the mods. How much? Dunno...

@Hunter5179 When you removed your CF filters, what version M5 intake did you have (block plates, snorkel, or open cut out)?

I removed my carbon filters on my 03.13 build M5 and was surprised to see I had the open cut out in my intakes. Looking for plates but cannot find them..

Installing my Akra exhaust very soon.

I have a set of AMS downpipes coming so we'll see how that affects the Akra sound. I've had mine on for 6K miles and love it. I think that with the GroupM, downpipes and Akra its going to be a killer setup.

The thing is that the only accurate way to measure your gains would be to do only YOUR car and get before and after measurements. And this is not really accurate (not getting into the "you can't properly Dyno a US F10/F12/F13 conversation again) but it would give you at least SOME close measure than comparing to another car. Cars can have very different results on the Dyno for various reasons.

Correct. Yeah I wasn't comparing just stating we had the same tune and what I put down on the same dyno same day same hour. Who knows why or how I'm just stating the results. I hear ya loud and clear and agree.
