     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I am currently a student in Philadelphia and was wondering if anyone knows of a self wash in the Philadelphia area. I dont trust car washes and prefer to do it myself anyway.

Why would you want to do it yourself? Find a good detail guy and pay him/her appropriately. Find a brushless car wash in between details.

Its not about that, I enjoy washing my own cars. Plus personally I think I do a better job than an automatic carwash and probably a better job than some of the detailers out there.

No one will take care of your car like you will. Make the investment and do it yourself

Car washes destroy your paint. They scratch the living hell out of the clear coat.

Never drive through one if you care about your car. Swirls galore and even RIDS (random isolated deep scratches) occur. Resulting in hours of paint correction which will come right back if you drive through again.

Go read up on how to properly wash your car on autogeek.net or any serious detail website. you will thank yourself for doing it right.

If you have a car you don't care about, work truck or beater - sure use a car wash for convenience but never a nice car like an F10.

Not that much. Goes faster the more practice you have. I think I properly was a car in 25-30 min. Includes fully drying the car and fully cleaning the wheels and tires.

Plus a waxed car (synthetic or natural) will shed dirt much much faster. Speeds up the wash and dry quite a bit.

Well worth the time, otherwise pay someone to do it right. Bad paint means you wasted your money on an expensive car as it will look crappy. Defeats the purpose.
