to sell the car or not?
I have been own the beast for two years now, enjoy every second driving it or just looking at it. But I know I will leave this country two years later(not US citizen, paid full cash for it, so you know how much I love it), so come to the question, should I sell the car before warrenty expire or just keep it, checked with KBB, the depreciation just sucks, and I have spend over 15k on the mods(maybe not much compare most of you, but that's a lot for me) so what do you guys think? If I should sell it, should I put OEM parts back? Please help, thanks!

same dilemma
I have the same dilemma. I am thinking of trading it even for a 2014 Ford Raptor but they are asking over msrp on those. I went today and they offered me $59k trade because that is what they were offered by a partner bmw dealership in cash for the car. That is consistent with what BMW offered me in a cash sale.
The raptor though they want $63k for on a $58k msrp. So they want me to do a $4k purchase, I said I was looking for an even trade and call me if they change their mind. Problem is, the car has depreciated ridiculously, I will not buy another one new. I got $9k off msrp on mine but at this price, it's $43k less than what I paid 19 months ago. That's pretty much 40%. The Ford guys loved the car but they can't afford it even as it sits and they love their raptor more. My wife doesn't want me to sell it because she likes it but not better than her Cayenne Turbo S. We are just using it to keep the miles down on the Porsches. |

I can't quite wrap my brain around why the early F10 M5s have depreciated so much. I've heard a few different explanations including, too many 2-3 year old leases coming to term and flooding the market. Certainly gives me pause for buying my new car and I will probably just lease. But, M5 to Raptor? That's a story I'd like to hear.

I have two other sections that I visit regularly and the m5 can't even get to the important places because the roads and terrain require high clearance and 4x4 at times. The Chevy Silverado 3/4 ton I took out there this week can get around but it rides terrible, same with that Sierra. The raptor has great appointments and rides way better, my operator bought two this summer. The raptor is built for offroading but it's also good on a long trip and it's 400 miles from my home to Pecos and then another 50-60 to my properties out in Orla and beyond. Yeah I get what you're saying, but a 4-door luxury performance sedan to off-road monster is a paradigm shift and I think a good story. As far as Ducati's holding their value, they don't. I've owned 5 of them, including my latest an 1199S that I sold this last summer and after all the mods I did when I got it, it still took a bath. I'm holding on to my PP MTS because it's such a fun bike to ride, but even that has depreciated unforgivably.

The can am four wheeler can go anywhere and that thing goes up to 75mph but I only got it to 65. The m5 has to creep along at 10mph or less even in the places it can go. The trucks can go 50 or so out there but you have to be careful because big ruts come up quick at that speed so 30 is better unless you know the road. |

I didn't get it! warranty will be expired in 2 years and then when he sells his car to BMW, they will Certifiy the car and sell it. Even the new buyer can buy the 2 years maintenance free for 2-3K! and OP just loses another 10-20K. If he sells and buys another one (new) he will lose another 40K! Or if he buys another one old, it's the same scenario as his car is!!!

Those stripper wells aren't great but this one is. It produces 650 bbl/day and 2300 mcf gas. Course with oil prices dropping, it's not as god as it was when it was first completed in July. I need the operator to drill a couple more like it on our section but he is busy trying to hold other leases so I won't get another too soon.
That is my sister and me at the well head. |

The blue Flame ones seem to hold very well, other than those one or two colors that are very limited I think a light Red and White maybe... Black/Silver I'd try to get more off Maybe call an east coast dealer too try to leverage your local dealer. |

I'd get white as thats a rarer color and when it comes time to sell dealers will be bending over backwards for those. All in all it reminds me a lot of the m5 that its so detached both in taking turns and in true speed. |

FYI I got a $66K offer from Carmax here in Socal two weeks ago so $59K is a joke. Also if you go outside your area you should be able to find a Raptor for sticker. One dealer here in Socal had 14 on the lot last month.

What year is your car? I had a $58k offer from the BMW dealer here in Austin last month. I got a $70k trade in offer on the Porsche in August which I should have taken but that is the best.
