Guys, i assume from your posts that neither of you have seen this color in the flesh.
having once owned a car this color, i can tell you factually that depending on the sunlight, this color can look purple from one angle, GREEN from another or even GOLD from another..... NO BULLSH*T...... it perhaps can best be described as a chameleon..... That is the reason why some hated it, and others loved it... it depended on the weather conditons when they viewed it.......... |

What a sick color. Reminds me of the concord grey 240sx that I had as my first car.
(Not my picture)

A local enthusiast did buy it. It went to a good home and I have seen it around occasionally. |

And if you look closely you can see my goofy smiling face too! My kids make fun of me because I end up giggling like a little kid when we're out driving; I have never been so happy with a car - even a purple one (but yeah, calling it purple doesn't do it justice). Super thanks to the original poster for the F10 pics; beautiful car!

I do like the uniqueness of the color! Quite Nice! Now, I'd like to see a metallic white as well! All 5's seem to only come in Alpine White but perhaps someone has a metallic white!

Moonstone metallic? It's kind of white in certain light, once a year.

This is the first time I've heard of a color known as SEPIA VIOLET.......though it's probably because most BMW Individual brochures don't even mention it at all.
It's as unknown as *hidden* colors like Java Green or Sepang Bronze or Sunburst Gold. P.S. Is there a complete list of all colors from the BMW Individual program? |

Presently there are 230 different paint colors that are active in BMW's individual paint program. All you have to do is pick out a color and then find out if BMWNA will let you order it on the particular model you are interested in buying. Sometimes you have push BMWNA really hard to get them to cooperate on individual orders. If it's a paint color that is not currently available on the model you want, the usual charge is $5,000, except for something like Pure Metal Silver, which is usually $10,000 for the US. http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showt...n-the-Internet) P.S. -- I forgot to add that if you want to see what one of those colors looks like on a BMW, all you have to do is a Google image search for BMW followed by the name of the color. I usually run it in English first and then in German. For instance, I just ran BMW Moonstone and then I ran BMW Mondstein. That pulled up lots of photos of BMW's in Moonstone Metallic paint. Obviously you can even do this for colors that haven't been used in several years and usually find some photos. Last edited by Ninong; 04-11-2015 at 11:23 AM.. |
