How to elimate break squeal on Carbotech pads Ct1648-1521 ?

Anyone experienced break squeal on the Carbotech pads front/back Ct1648-1521 ? Any tricks to remove the squeal when coming to a stop? Also have a rotating brake squeak when car is driving at <20mph without pressing the brakes.

I was going to try this?

Try bedding those pads first. Costs you no money at all.

Use Meguiars "Hot Wheels" cleaner and spray everything with a thick coat. Use a brush to clean the calipers. Then repeat.

Chances are it's leftover residue from stock brakes causing the noise. It will disappear over ~1000 miles. But you need to thoroughly clean all components. No bedding necessary with 1521's.

Best,
Brad

Not sure what that means. They're still brake pads, and he's using steel brake rotors.

Carbotech states no special procedure necessary. Call them.

I don't need to call them. The correct info is posted on their site.
All new brake pads require a bedding process...

NOTE: The proper way to bed your brake pads and brake discs (rotors) is to bed them on the racetrack, NOT on the street (excluding the Bobcat 1521 compound).
Perhaps you believe the 1521 doesn't require bedding because of this statement. However, the 1521 is documented to not use on the racetrack. That's why it says this.

At any rate Carbontech's website states bedding procedures in their FAQ.
http://www.ctbrakes.com/faqs.asp#bedding1

And not to discount your suggestion completely, I don't think any spray can removed baked uneven pad material from a rotor surface without also melting away your pads in the process.

I replaced my stock pads at 33k miles, kept the stock rotors, and what I outlined worked for me. Of course YMMV, but I'm not going to get into a pissing match with you about it. Are you even using 1521's?

Also note that the link you referenced explicitly EXCLUDES the 1521. Why I said call them directly to verify. I had this exact conversation and they told me "No bedding necessary. Squealing and dust will reduce over ~1k miles or a few months as the stock pad material is removed from your rotors."

If he has never thoroughly cleaned components, it will help.

Right. That's what I quoted. It excludes 1521s because their procedures are for track use. Meaning, they don't want to be on the hook legally for telling someone to do this on the street.

Not trying to piss. But wrong info is wrong info.

It worked for you because you apparently drove 1000 miles after installation. That effectively gives you the same effect of bedding.

Do you know if there's a difference between pads on a 13' and LCI's; went on the website and found PN for 13 but I was unable to find for 15'.

Did you check that ll the pistons are free and the hand brake mech was released and reset properly? Its common to have a stick piston and the main cause off vibrations and noise.
