Which Socal (LA area) BMW dealers are "friendly" to bolt-on mods?

Hi all,

I recently purchased a 2014 M5 that has existing mods. From what I can see (and confirmed by EAS when I stopped by their shop for spacers) is that the car was lowered on H&R springs, has Turner exhaust, and IND cosmetic stuff.

My only concern is the exhaust, as it is easily distinguishable from stock. I know dealer service depts vary greatly and depends on who you deal with directly. For example, I have not heard good things about Long Beach BMW service from my mom, who owns an X5.

Anyways, its my first foray into this particular brand and its good to know a dealer who wont give me a hard time, since one of the main reasons I purchased this particular M5 was because it has ~30 months of factory warranty left.

thanks.

Charlie from McKenna apparently is the guy to go to. Haven't used him yet.

You guys are nuts. Hush money lol?

Why are you worried about an exhaust voiding warranty?

I am not worried about an exhaust voiding warranty. We all know/experienced dealing with the wrong SA at any dealer, not just BMW. I've listened to SAs try to lay blame on customers before (while waiting for my car) and its disgusting the BS that comes out of their mouths. That's why I have formed a general distrust with dealer service centers over the years, and why I usually ask for places to avoid or are recommended. I'll drive a little out of my way to have a better experience.

Anyways, maybe BMW dealers will be different...its my first bimmer. I will avoid Long Beach BMW though because of some things my mom went through with her X5.

And I have never, and will never, tip any dealer to take care of my cars.

if my car is modded yes. if not, no.

But again, if your running a tune, e85, and take your car into the dealership, i believe you should have some decency to take care of whoever is fixing the car. They are taking some sort of risk by doing it, so it's only fair imo.

Stay away from BMW of Monrovia - they aren't even stock friendly.

Brooke Ranger from Bmw of Monrovia is an exceptional person to deal with she's one of the main SAs there & she turns the other way on mods , as a matter of fact she recommends me to go to LTMW when I want aftermarket things considering it's right down the street

For the San Diego guys, bmw of El Cajon is friendly. The Kearney Mesa one has terrible Yelp reviews, so beware.

Charlie from McKenna was great.
He's M guy as well.
El Cajon dealership's master tech is Nick, he's VP of CCA OC chapters and an M guy so he understand "us" very well.

Another guy Brian at Vista is also great/friendly SA with M3.
