I actually kinda like it. (But would buy it as it's counterpart, the Subaru BR-Z).

If they make an STi version of this car, it could be a beast! I do like the way the car looks!

Also, this belongs in the "General Automotive" section. It has nothing to do with the BMW E9X.

What's so special about it? Everyone keeps raving about this scion and saying its part of the ae86 car line and what not.

SLOOOWWWW... (both the Scion and Subaru are NA 4 cylinders)

When you drive it, your waiting for the Subaru's iconic lag then turbo kick to occur. Until you realize it wont....

0-60 of yawn is what i remember, although im sure it handles great ( a better looking alternative to the typical S2K track car?)

... just sayin. (<- late night post)

And what does that have to do with your thread?

I agree, a thread about a M6 should go in the General BMW section... but 2 wrongs don't make a right, do they? Not trying to be a dick, just pointing it out. The thread doesn't even have anything to do with BMW... or even a 3 series competitor for that matter.

I wouldn't say so. Not in the same price category, luxury category, or speed category

The FR-S/BR-Z starts at about $25k, a 328i coupe starts at $38k. (new F30 sedan starts at $34... but that wouldn't be comparing apples to apples)
Obviously the 328i has the Subaru/Scion beat hands down in luxury and comfort.
And even the current 328i coupe is faster... (plus, the current coupe is an I6, and the new sedan is a turbo I4)

being part of the lexus community, i can see why this car is more hyped than your usual 4 banger. first of all if any knows anyone calling their car rex, you probably know the power they're capable of putting down. the 4banger in an sti is a little short of 300 hp stock. not your avg wow factor... but they also have an upside as great as n54 when it comes to after market parts and tuning capabilities.

now the only reason i would never buy a subaru was because of how hideous and uncomfortable it was riding in one. it seriously felt like a buck on wheels. not that riding in a scion is a category better but its always been decent for its price.

long story short: car looks like an LF-A (which is a beast i love), has a subie engine, and the longevity of a toyota, and is 10k less than a 328i.

I'd love to flog one on the track but for a daily driver, not a frick'n chance. Crap interior, joke of a backseat, anemic power, crap stock tires, etc.

If the FR-S /BRZ was a woman, she'd be a decent whore I'd bang every now and then but would never consider marrying.

I think most of you guys are missing the point of this car. Does it look as nice as your bmw? subjective. Is it faster (in a straight line) or more comfortable than the bmw? Nope.

Is it more fun to drive around a track or in the twisties? You bet. This is a light weight, CHEAP, drivers car that connects you to the road. I'm sure this will have a large following and be widely popular with a certain crowd.

The only reason why I would buy this car, its relatively cheap, RWD, 4 cylinders(gas saver), and its a boxer motor which I love because you just cannot beat the sound of one! It definitely has my attention. I just wonder how much potential that 4 banger has.
