I went pretty dark on my AW. I don't have your interior color, but here's a point of reference for you.

and I changed my mind when I learned that the factory is completely a different thing as the glass itself is tinted, so not just a film on top, And I am afraid I may get air bubbles underneath. Tintworld here in Charlotte does it for about 300$ carbon something - 35% which is max legal in NC and I actually would appreciate your input on that too guys. My car is Sakhir Orange and actually will look nice with tinted glass ! |

Yeah so basically all you guys drive at night with the equivalent of sunglasses on.
Personally I'd rather put the lives of pedestrians and cyclists ahead of vanity. But to each his own.

At night the car has decent level of privacy, during the day the light is allowed in the seat color is visible, more so with the sunroof open. But if you are looking for clear definition of seeing the seat color, I would go lighter than 50. Stealths suggestion I think would be perfect for you...
I used 3M Crystalline CR50 with CR90 on windshield CR50 on sunroof class

Vanity has nothing to do with people tinting their windows especially if it is within the limit of the law. You like yours one way and others have a different view point. If you front window is tinted now that is totally wrong. In saying that if you get into an accident especially at night it wouldnt look to good for you in court. All my cars have always been tinted since tint came out. Don't act like you have never had tinted windows before.

Been running 15% for almost 2 years now on the F10. Love how I don't get blinded by cars headlights at night because the stupid auto-dimming feature on the side view mirrors is so slow on the F10 M5. I also love how no one can see who the Mofo is behind the wheel when I flyby them at 140mph.

I always do 20% on sides and back window. 50-60% on front windshield. I use 3M Color Stable on the sides and 3M Crystalline on the front (I know there's that photosync that's a little better in rejection but it's only for light % tinting).
I personally see tint as a safety feature first, comfort feature second, vanity third. - cuts down glare, making day and night driving much easier and safer - holds together glass in the event of an accident. this has saved my face before. - keeps car cool and leather in good condition Those are my main reasons for tinting and my choice in films. Very rarely do I need to roll my side windows down. Only when I am parking in very tight quarters to see if a curb on the ground jets out. The front windshield tint during the darkest time of night I can see out the front no problem. It's very beneficial at night cutting down glare from oncoming cars, street lights, road lights, and sometimes high beams left on by other drivers. I can always spot road debris and other obstacles. Never in 10 years of tinting my cars this way have I had any issues. The side mirrors auto dim feature doesn't work the best, and there is a non dim border around the glass edges. So the side tint helps with that as well. So everyone knows, it's not the dark % tint that rejects heat. It's the type of film and film technology. 3M Crystalline and PhotoSync reject the most heat and cut down lots of glare. So if you have no concern of privacy I would recommend one of those. It looks very classy as well as you can still see the interior during some conditions. If you are interested in privacy, I would strongly recommend not going below 20% on the sides. Tinting the windshield isn't for everyone. I can't recommend that to others. But I wouldn't run what I have if I had any trouble or felt it was unsafe.

You guys can say what you want, but it's hard to argue darker is safer. There is a reason there are more accidents at night.
