M5 is a better daily. I've driven both cars. I would get a gt3 or turbo for weekend car

Actually there is one GT3 left that I was gonna put a down payment on but the problem for me is that I want a DD car and the GT3 front lip has little clearance and here in Qatar the roads are atrocious that I would get a heart attack every time I drive it.
That's why I switched to the C2S. The reason why I'm cross-shopping between these 2 cars because the M5 was one of my dream cars and I always wanted to own an ///M car.

Good luck with your choice, and I'm lucky I have both. Vic is spot on with his assesment with the M5 being a torque monster, but when the 991S get's in the high RPM band hold on. The sounds is amazing, and the rev matches on the downshift shound down right evil. The new 991 is a daily driver, and has more creture comforts more than before.
Now having both if I had to choose, and didn't need a rear seat I would take the 991S. The look is hot, and a head turner and the handling is great. M5 is a fast scary car that can get loose, and the 991S is a razor shap knift with sexy lines. Hope that helps! |

The voice of reason from an owner of both.... did you get the Porsche Sport Exhaust? The sound of that alone was a clincher.

That's one option I didn't get which I would have loved to hear. From what a gather it's piped in like the M5? If so no one beats up Porsche for piping in nice music I will park the M5 the weekend, and the 991 will get all my attention it's been sitting for two weeks ....sucks traveling.

I didnt know or hear about the internal part but I heard while standing about 20 feet behind the car and the rev's to 8k were incredible but the burbles, pops, barks as it came down in the 5-6k range were even better. This is what I would ultimately do to the car:

I went from 911s to 4s to 997 turbo, to 2013 997 turbo s. We love the car. I am a big p-car fan. Just be prepared to pay $$$ for maint. The 911s wont let you down. With that said i wanted a 4 seater car and its time to get rid of our Cayenne Turbo. I am not a fan of the Panamera Turbo s and they want ridiculous money for it (in my opinion). The M5 has always been my childhood dream car. so it was natural for me to walk in and say lets do it. With that said i would not give up the 997 it is AWSOME. and the new 911s look amazing and drive great. It boils down to if you want a 4 door or 2. If you want two go with the 911. If you need 4 go with the M5.
If i had to only get one i would pick the 911, but i have never owned NOR driven an M5. Well until mine arrives.... |

Yes there is but unfortunately if I want that I need to order it since the car in their allocation doesn't have it, if it did I would have bought it .

Yesterday I traded in my 991 base for an M5.
The 991 is a great car and fun to drive but I got tired of having a smaller car and I wanted to get a bigger car that handles well and has power. The M5 fit my needs for what I wanted. Either way I think you will be happy but like everyone else said it really depends on if you need a bigger or smaller car for your needs. |
