Wheel spacers...so many brands. Which ones do you use?

Is there really a difference? Assuming they're hub-centric, are any really better than any others??? Some claim to be lighter, but how much, and why does that matter if we're talking ounces? It reminds me of the fat guy in full spandex riding the $10,000 road bike that he bought because of the lightweight titanium pedals and components.

I guess I'm just trying to avoid getting sucked into the most expensive ones if there's little difference between all. ...then again, owning an M5 means spending more than most.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've got H&R spacers on my car now and have always used H&R. As for the weight of spacers, i doubt there's a big difference between the different brands.

I have macht schnell --build quality is high, and they're black - they also seem to be popular here, so I figured they couldn't be all bad. I'm sure they're all hubcentric and come with quality lugs. You probably can't go wrong with H&R either...

I used 12 in the front and 10 in the back

Yeah...I kinda figured they're all basically the same.

Your wheels: are they powdercoated? They look amazing. Can't tell from the pic if they're matte or gloss. What made you choose to put the wider spacers in the front? I often hear of 10s or 12s in front and 15s in the back. Just curious.

I just went by what seemed to be the norm -- I think ind's package comes with that spacer combo. The wheels are more of a satin/matte black --they're not glossy, its what the car came with.

Is it true you can't go too fast, speed wise (140mph) with spacers on?

Heard of this via a few forum members, but not too sure how much of this is true?

I use Macht Schnell 12mm f/r on KW HAS and they're great.

I have using H&R spacer 12mm all around now for over a year now with with over 40 pluse 150+ mph with no problems.

H&R springs and macht schnell spacers 12mm front , 10mm rear no issues at all.
Now i'm runing Cup 2 305/30/20 in the rear i don't need spacers.

No it's just the tire , Cup 2 305/30/20 , i removed the rear spacers to avoid any rubbing issues.

I'm in the market for spacers too... plan on lowering my car w/Eibach Springs. Rep at BMS says 12mm in front is too wide and is even recommending 15mm for the rears.

Seems like everyone on the forum has either 10mm or 12mm up front and 12mm rears.

Any guidance or tips on pro/cons or which route to take?

With a poorly designed spacer, it can be dangerous.

Some wheels actually require spacers (a few of our Magnesium wheels come with them). High quality, well designed, and properly installed spacers present no issues whatsoever in regards to safety.

Anyone who balks at them completely or feels they're all dangerous should be vigilant when flying. We build spacers that are used on several Boeing and Airbus Passenger Aircraft. Those have a 400km/h speed threshold, encounter much harsher operating environments, and have far more mass to cope with.

BMS spacers are alloy, hard anodised black, come with the correct wheel bolts and avaliable in popular sizes plus they are fully hubcentric.
