M5/M3 agony

i had already my mind set and the contract signed for an M3 coupe but now that more info came out on the M5 i am getting more and more unsure. although i have no need for the additional back seat space i do appreciate the new technology, the better interior in the M5 and the performance advantage over the M3. i am sure that much of this (like HUD) will be available in the next M3 in two years and then I shall strive to change over from E92 to its successor. i somewhat feel that it is too late to go for the E92 now, it seems pretty much dated. on the other hand the E92 looks fantastic while the M5 F10 looks do not tell me anything other than big bulky sedan. so i am split....
i could absorb the price difference M3-M5 without problem. anybody else in a similar situation?
peter
ps: i am driving a P C4S now, just to tell you what my car preferences are...

Tough question. I guess it depends on what you want to do with the car. If you want to take it to the track much or do much performance driving I'd go with the M3. It's the last chance to own a high reving NA M-car too. The M5 should be a monster but it's much bigger and probably less fun to throw around. Probably be a great daily driver though.

no track days, just spirited road driving. and when i get out of my P C4S i always look back at it. the same would hold for the M3 while the M5 -for me- is just a big chunky sedan with neither sporty looks nor elegance. more like a suburban bodyshop's tuning job. but the technology is first rate. this is what makes me think.

Congrats. You won't regret it, except in parking lot/spaces.

that was/is my main issue with the M5: the sheer size of it. anyway, after two years i can still swap it for the new M3 if i find it too unmanagable.
