Decided that a new M5 won't ever be on my want list
I have been a very keen M car enthusiast and love the M5, did 100k miles in my E39, lots of mods and loved it, decided to get an E92 M3 and not an E60 M5 (my only new car), bought an E90 M5 competition and modded the suspension, great car but always a little too big and heavy. I don't need 4 seats and don't drive every day so moved the M5 on before getting hit too hard with depreciation.
I might get an every day car in the future if I am driving more to work etc, the M5 always had an appeal, for me it no longer does, it's just too big I hope the new M3 is more interesting than the current one ( i really dislike the engine) |

Nothing wrong with telling it like it is.

got a typo...I think you meant you bought a F10 M5 Competition and that it's too big and heavy for you....
IMO, whatever you want man, it's your money. I went from a E90 M3 to a F06 M6 and loving every minute of it.

I used to have a 13 C63 and a 10 E92 M3 both cars were fully modded and my F10 M5 is much better than both those cars in every way.
I wouldn't buy the new M5 though. The new M5 just looks like a facelift to the F10. If you compare the E60 m5 to the F10 big change, same with E39 to E60 but F10 to G90 looks just like a facelift. |

I don't see the issue, everyone looks for different cars at different times in their lives. I bought the M5 because I needed the 4 door w the kids. I was buying a GTR but then realized how small the back seats were. Love my M5, when I no longer need the sedan, maybe a Porsche, Z06, GTR or something else! More power to you bud, just enjoy and love what you have! Happy holidays all!

I sold my F10 M5 for a 911 991.2 carrera S. I didn’t need the size, but they are two different cars, as in your e92 m3. One is an executive super saloon, more for straight line speed and practicality while the other is a sports car. One will never fill the need of the other and thus you’re comparing apples to oranges. No one buys an s63 amg and considers it a sports car. Same with the M5, a balls out fast full-size LUXURY sedan that tries to be smaller than its size utilizing electronic nannies. They somewhat defy physics, but the law of inertia still applies and you can’t compare it to a car that is 1000lb lighter. Once I move to suburbia and have more space for more than one car, I will certainly pick up a super saloon again to compliment the 911. I miss the trunk space and the ability to leave my golf clubs inside the trunk rather than having to take it in and out all the time from the back seat.
Right now, the g90 M5 is not appealing to me. It looks like it’s sitting on stilts. Doesn’t have the grounded girth the f10 had stock. The perfect compliment to my 911 if I had the extra room would be the 2018 RS4.
