Need some help with Kidney Grills
So I'm in the market for an M5 and I'm looking at the leftover 2014's and I'm pretty sure that the 2014's received the LCI (facelift) with the new kidney grills. But there are some cars I'm seeing that has all black kidney grills without the mini M5 badge. I guess it's not really a big deal but I'm wondering if someone at the dealer switched the 2014 LCI kidneys and put 2013 kidneys in. Thoughts?
Here's what I expect: But then I see these: |

The bottom one is exactly what I have on my '14 M5. I wanted the car debadged and the only way to do it was with the single slot front grill.
Some people mind, but I don't. Besides, I like it better without the chrome ring.

Right, that is what you get if you want the blacked out look with the M5 badge.
For the '14s, the only way to remove the front badge was with the single slot grill. By the way, I optioned my car with the single slot grill and they replaced it at the VPC on entry.

When will IND come up with the LCI grill without ///M5 badge? I will be an immediate customer!

why would you want to lose the ///M5 badge from the front grill? this is one of the best features of the grill... can you wrap the chrome surround?

all 2014 come with the double grill. If it doesnt than its probably not a 2014. Another way to know is from the intererior on the Idrive, the 2014 is touch idrive and the 2013 isnt. Make sure they dont sell you a 2013. I would never get the car if it didnt have the right grill.

My main concern is whether the dealer did it to put the 2014 grill on another car. Something like this I would like disclosed to me before I put a deposit down. If not, it's harder to trust the dealer especially if I'm buying the car from long distance and I can't physically see the car. |

Just because it doesn't have the double slotted grill doesn't mean it isn't a '14 M5.

I dare to disagree, I think it is the show-stopper on the LCI grill. Yes, you can have the frame in gloss black ex factory and ex IND.

Your fault @Valnic ;-)
OP, you really shouldn't have started this. I was sooooo over the LCI grill and had long decoded not to get it. Now this thread and earlier today, I phoned Nate IND and put in my order what I believe is the perfect mix of all worlds (obviously the ///M5 version thereof):
I'll post pictures once it's installed.

Not saying that your choice was a bad one, just wanted to let people know that you can have both the LCI grille and be debadged |
