2012 F10 M5 Thoughts?

Hello everyone!

I hope the week is going well,

Here in Canada (BC in specific) our car market is a literal dumpster fire, like a whole new level of terrible,

And as I have been looking for a replacement for my F30 335i this has been especially difficult.

Currently I'm in the market for a 2013+ M6, however the 2012-2013 m5's are peaking my interest as well, I have a couple around me currently that I can take a look but what are your thoughts on them?

I have driven a couple m5's and m6's and instantly I fell in love with the s63tu paired with the DCT won me over instantly.

Now looking through a more rational lense, how is reliability going to look on these vehicles? I am fully prepared to buy a warranty and I have a close friend that runs a great Indy shop.

Thoughts? Concerns? I'd love to hear some input on the move from going to a older car potentially.

Thank you for the help and takin the time to read over this!!

I'd probably look at the one at BMW Langley and see if it has a service history. Some people might feel otherwise, but I'd have a hard time buying a 10 year old M car from an indie shop. The engine and trans are pretty robust , but you'll maybe want to invest in plugs and coils right off the bat, if you don't have a service history.

Otherwise, the usual wear items are just more expensive for these cars.

I bought my car in Langley but had BMW Langley do the pre purchase inspection. I've got no experience with them otherwise, I'm from out east , but we always find BC cars age better than out east.

The first one looks cleaner, but I wouldn't consider a car with an accident on it. Especially one as finicky as an f10 m5.

I suggest you keep waiting for the one to show up, you just have to be ready to buy immediately.

I love my 2012 M5 (originally a car from Canada). I have 37,000 miles on it and I've replaced the spark plugs, coil packs, and 4 fuel injectors so far. I bought the car with 34,000 miles and it is stock. Hope that helps.
