Apple CarPlay Upgrade iDrive
Hey all,
I want to upgrade my screen in my 2013 F10 M5 to the 2018 and up screen and be able to use wireless Apple CarPlay. Even if there is not the Screen Upgrade, can anyone suggest a good system that has worked for you on your F10 M5. Thanks, KJ

I am not happy with build in mic of those units. If you don't make too many calls , those are perfect, but if you do , you probably need to wire external mic or upgrade the one in the unit.

I too don't like this issue. Their tech support suggestion was to purchase an additional dongle for Carplay at $100. I have found somewhat of a work around, but searching still for a permanent fix. Basically they tell you not to connect to the cars bluetooth. The Zlink software doesn't care what bluetooth you connect to to enable carplay. So i disconnected from the headunit bluetooth but didn't unpair it from my phone, and connected to the OEM bluetooth and both carplay works fine and the car bluetooth for calls. The only issue i have is that the carplay connection being over wifi, sometimes when i get a call it will pickup on the headunits localhost which essentially routes back to the built in mic. I simply switch sources on my iphone back to the bmw bluetooth and done. Doesn't happen every time either.

Hello! I recently became the owner of the F10 2014.
I plan to buy a head unit on Android OS, but before that, I want to study in detail all the aspects, difficulties, and possible consequences of such an undertaking. I have a 2014 model. Maybe someone already installed it, please share your experience, I will be very grateful. Many THX) Maybe you know? |

I ended up finding out the reason it wasn't working is because the wire wasn't properly latched in place So just be careful with ur installation |
