European Delivery car drop off question

For those who did ED with a drop off other than Munich, did you guys have to make an appointment for the drop off or did anybody just arrived at the drop off place without prior notice? Per the ED instructions, it says that an appointment should be scheduled, and if so, what would be the minimum days prior to the drop off should one call to make the appointment? Would it be fine to arrive say a day earlier of the appointment? I would appreciate any feedback from those who recently got their cars on 9/1.

I picked up my car on 9/1 and drove it right to the Munich location. I originally was going to leave my car at the Welt because I had a 2:30 pick-up and the drop-off location closed at 2:00. But due to a cancellation I was able to move my pick-up up to 11:00. Given that change, I decided at the last minute to drive the car to the drop-off site myself. The receptionist in the lounge called the drop-off site around 9:00 and scheduled a noon drop-off for me. I wouldn't cut it quite this close, but I think my experience indicates you do not need to make the appointment days in advance. If you can manage a call the day before, that's probably optimal. However, it seems you may only need to give them a few hours notice.

Hope this is helpful.

I dropped off in Paris. I gave them a two week notice but showed up an hour early. It was no problem besides the wasted time trying to find the location. That sucked.

The Franfurt location is difficult to find as well. I would allow plenty of time to find it and get to the airport.

I did the Frankfurt location also. My appt was set for 2:00, I called around 11:00 and asked if I could drop it off early, their response was "of course".

My impression is that they just want to have you "on the books" with a scheduled appointment. I want/needed a 4 pm appt (they close at 4:30) on Tues pm and all they had was a 1pm. The lady put me in the 1pm slot and said it was ok to drop off before closing its just that "I might have to wait a little". I didn't care as I just needed to get in before they closed as my flight was the next morning. Turns out I didn't have to wait at all.

Frankfurt wasn't that hard to find.

Car wash was on the way too.

The lady even showed up 30 min early.

The only difficulty I had was finding towel to dry my car after car wash.

I also find out that someone hit my rear bumper and got me a dent.

Btw- I made my drop off appointment a month ahead.
