Absolutely amazing sound!! My favorite so far that I've heard. I've been searching for a few weeks, and nothing really grabbed me till I heard this. I'm sure there will be lots of cars popping up with this.

For sure!! I can't wait. I think out of all the mods, this will be my favorite. Love the sound and I'll get the most enjoyment out of the exhaust. Performance mods are nice too, but unfortunately, can't fully enjoy them most of the time.

Hey, one thing to look out for since I know you were talking about a JB4 Stage 2 system.

Keep in mind that the JB4 Stage 2 *requires* it to be connected to the OBDII port otherwise half the features don't work.

The Armytrix bluetooth OBDII valve controller *requires* it to be connected to the OBDII port so you can operate the valves.

See the issue here?

Armytrix says I can use their "Classical Remote module" to control the valves without the bluetooth OBDII dongle, but I'm having a hell of a time getting any information out of them other than that (like can they send one to me, etc).

Yes, read that the other day. I reached out to vivid about it yesterday, so I guess we will see. Jb4, Dwight be temporary. Might go to a flash tune. I wanted to keep the jb4 for monitoring/logging... But if this is an issue, I won't. Let me know if you hear anything please. Thanks bro.

I'd sell my soul for this system. I just wish it was a smidgen cheaper.

I'd be interested in this also. My OBDII port is occupied by my Waylens adapter. So OBDII control of valves is not an option.

I have a temporary solution that was suggested. Getting an OBD II splitter. It costs about $15. Not sure how well it will work, but should be OK for now.

I got a response from Vivid/Armytrix on Friday. You can purchase the Classical Remote Module from them so you don't have to use the OBDII bluetooth adapter. However, it does appear to be an extra cost on top of the exhaust.

I made the suggestion that Armytrix should consider giving the option of either for those that want to use things like JB4's, etc which don't like sharing the OBDII port so customers don't have to make the choice between an Armytrix exhaust and their performance tunes (most people will choose the performance tune and look elsewhere for an exhaust system).

Although, if you don't care about opening/closing the exhaust valves, the valves on this exhaust default to open. So you can technically plug the vacuum lines coming to the exhaust (or plug the vacuum port on the solenoid, which is my preferred option) and the valves will stay open all the time. You just don't get the option of closing the valves and silencing the exhaust.

Thanks for the info.

I kinda feel like the OBDII would likely be a more expensive part versus a remote. Maybe if they offered an exchange, like a core return of the OBDII, they'd call it a wash. Either way, worst case you could build your own with just a simple RF remote probably.

I want the open close option, that's very important to me. I want the car quiet when called for, or quieter I should say.

You probably could, you'd just need to wire it to a vacuum valve (Armytrix replaces the OEM vacuum solenoid with it's own). This is mainly because Armytrix built the valves backwards from OEM operation.

In the OEM system, no vacuum means valves closed (default position) and vacuum is valves open. On the Armytrix system (and apparently other aftermarket systems too), no vacuum means valves open (default position) and vacuum is valves closed). So you can't use the OEM vacuum solenoid otherwise the valves close at throttle/speed.

I don't know why aftermarket exhausts do it backward from OEM, it makes no f'ing sense to me. Unless they are just trying to lock you into using their controllers/remotes for valve operation instead of running it the same way as OEM.

And I agree on the OBDII being a more expensive part and I'd be happy to send the OBDII version back in exchange for the classical remote (the classical remote requires you to tap into a couple wires for the RPM/Throttle sensors and power instead of pulling everything from the OBDII via CanBus).

That's a very good question, as to why they make it backwards... More stuff for them to sell and make money on?

Won't be long now!! Can't wait. Thanks again for everything bro, couldn't be happier at this point. Definitely big shout out to Vivid, pleasure to deal with. Armytrix is a beautiful exhaust, everyone at the shop loves it, said it was a shame to even put this work of art on any car.
