N55 to S55 or S58

Hello all, slowly as I am getting more into BMWs, I wanna end up building a faster car for myself to keep, but I wanted to get some insight and knowledge on how to do this.

I have been thinking of S55 or S58 swapping my car later down the road once I have money to play around with. My main question is how would I get the cluster, DCT shifter, etc, to all work together in a Non-M car?

My plans are pretty much simple:

A, Purchase a candidate being a S55 F80/F82 motor or S58 G80/G82 motor
B, Swap the motor in and replace it with my current N55
C, Upgrade the cluster and center console with M5 components, so M5 Cluster, M5 Center Console, M5 DCT Shifter, etc

Would anyone know if this is possible? I do not know how far programming can go, looking to see if anyone has experience with programming or has done it before.

I always recommend just purchasing the M car with the motor already in it. Swapped cars don't hold any value. Money down the toliet. Look at it as an investment if you are purchasing a properly depreciated used car(5+years old/60% depreciated). You don't necessarily have to lose much money. You could even profit if the car appreciates.

Sell the 535i and buy a M.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to get a B58 platform prior.

cheers

yeah, I'm slow and dumb, I got scammed on the 535i. July 2022 I got it for 26k with 61k miles. A year later its at 88k miles and its worth like 10k. Not very smart of me, but I was 18 at the time and didn't know any better. All I was looking for was a N55 platform for reliability and that's it. Heavily regret my decision.

But I wish to get a M4 Competition or M3 CS F8x chassis

Yeahhhh... I hope I can afford a M3 CS or M4 Competition one day, but that's just a sheer dream from a California kid.

I live in a area where diversity is more important than skills.

No worries brotha we all make some mistakes

I’m sure you learned from this experience!

Enjoy your car, enjoy the N55 platform.

Lots of carry over knowledge from platform to platform.

Drive it until it blows then sell it hahahah jk

I probably will haha, my brother has a motor from an F10 M5, so possibly a M5 swap if it's affordable but, I highly doubt it, I don't want to invest the amount I spent on the price tag for the car.

Engine swaps aren't as simple as they seem.

But that swap would be insane

Wish it was that simple, sadly nothing in life is.
