DRIVETRAIN MALFUNCTION (no codes popping up when pugged in)

so i know there are a lot of DTMAL threads, i read all of them! I recently got one and when i brought it to my local indy shop they plugged in the snap on code reader and no codes popped up except my catless downpipe code. After i left the code popped up again when i did a 60% throttle first gear pull and then when i shut off the car it went away. Anyone know if this is a spark plug and coil issue? First time i had power loss and second time DTMAL it was just the warning but car ran the same.

Try cleaning mass air flow sensors. They usually throw random stupid codes when dirty.

They must not be reading it with a proper tool because a Drivetrain Malfunction will always store a fault.

Snap on code reader, is that not a good one?

Did you ever get this figured out?
I'm currently running a flash tune and just had this issue pop up yesterday. I plugged in the OFT tablet and no codes were shown.

The engine went to limp mode right away but when i turned the car off and back on it was running normal but no codes...

I had DTMAL similar situation under load and it was a spark plug issue, I went and replaced all 8 and 8 coils and haven't had any issues. If you're tuned make sure to gap the plugs correctly.
