I doubt I will be doing a track days in my car, but I do like the 'coolness' factor . I'm more concerned with the fact they don't work so well unless they have been warmed up! could always spray the standard callipers gold

5. Very long life if not driven on the track 10 times a month: 50,000 mile pad change and 100,000 mile rotor change.

Top Reasons Not to get CCB's

1. Very Expensive Option to order from the Factory
2. High maintenance costs when it's time to replace the rotors or pads
3. For normal street driving you won't notice the difference in stopping power than standard steel rotors.
4. Depending on your country, they are not covered under the standard 50,000 mile maintenance plan (I think).
5. The rotors may be susceptible to damage from small rocks and stones.

There you have it, but these don't take into account the bragging rights and coolness factor your M5 will have over others. How much is the occasional ooh and ahh's worth it to you when people see you have gold painted calipers on your BMW that general public doesn't understand what an ///M car even is.

Another reason not to get. You have to be extremely careful when swapping wheels, as they can be easily damaged. I track mine, but I'd rather throw some track pads on it and replace the rotors when necessary. Still cheaper, and I'm not racing anyone competitively.

Garage List
2024 BMW X7 M60  [10.00]
Just picked it up! Drove it back to my office, but even on that short 2 mile drive I am loving how much more comfortable it is than the M3.

Got the info on the coding and will be going through the list to pick things out.

Thanks for the warm welcome!
