Profile confusion

The profile setting on my f10 M5 have a mind of their own, sometimes the car starts up with the correct saved settings and others it doesn't, I.e I have the split screen showing OBC data but it will sometimes start up with geo data such as Longitude and latitude.

I've never been able to save the throttle setting to sport, it always reverts to efficient.

Can you save seat/steering wheel position under profiles? When I switch profiles it warns me that they might move....

Thanks in advance for any help!

I'd like to hear the answer to this as well. I've programmed my seats using the buttons, but the profile on the computer changes it. Lol, never got a full dealer run through.

Here is the way my 2013 X3 works. The M5 should be similar but read the owners manual for differences.

. Multiple profiles can be saved, my X3 supports 3 personal and 1 guest.
. Each key references one profile and remembers the last one used for the next time the key is used. Generally one profile is for your key and a different one for your wife's key. The correct profile is called up the next time the key is used. But you can switch profiles within iDrive.
. Each profile allows 2 separate seat settings, saved in the seat memory buttons. IE you can have 2 and your wife 2 different seat positions.
. Test this by setting the seat and saving 2 postions, exit and lock the door. Unlock with a different key. If set already, the seat should move. Otherwise move the seat to a different position yet, exit and lock the car with the second key. The 1st key should return the seat to the first setting and both buttons should be as first programmed.
. The "seat movement warning" is because of the potential for it moving by changing to a different profile while in the car. Not just at unlock.
. Based on what I've read, M settings are saved to a profile but default always to comfort modes.
. It would be nice if there was a valet key that used the guest setting but to ensure they don't mess up your settings, set the car to "guest" profile prior to handing them your key. You can then get back your profile settings later.
. Read the owners manual for other saved settings. The X3 lists...
▷ Collision warning: warning time, last setting
on/off.
▷ Exterior mirror position.
▷ CD/Multimedia: audio source listened to
last.
▷ Driving Experience Switch: sport program (just the preferences within, not the last mode used)
▷ Driver's seat position: automatically retrieved
after unlocking.
▷ Programmable memory buttons: assignment.
▷ Head-up Display: selection, brightness, position
and rotation of the display.
▷ Headlamp courtesy delay feature: time setting.
▷ Tone: tone settings.
▷ Automatic climate control/Automatic climate
control with enhanced features: settings.
▷ Navigation: map views, route criteria, voice
output on/off.
▷ Park Distance Control PDC: adjusting the
signal tone volume.
▷ Radio: stored stations, station listened to
last, special settings.
Backup camera: selection of functions and
type of display.
▷ Language on the Control Display.
▷ Lane departure warning: last setting, on/off.
▷ Triple turn signal activation.
▷ Locking the vehicle: after a brief period or
after starting to drive.
