Stock tires = no traction?

I have about 10,00mi. The rear end is ALWAYS loose like it's on ice or over armor-all'd. Any turn out of a driveway results in traction control.
In tight corners it breaks loose like crazy. You guys notice this? It has A lot of power but totally unusable. I love the 911 I've been driving because it just goes where it's supposed to.. Thanks

Yep, it means new tires are in order even though there is plenty of tread left. I just got a new back pair under tire warranty even though the originals had 12k miles on them. Makes a huge difference with the DSC light and I even got a 2s 60 foot time where as I was 2.4s with the bad tires.

With loads of torque comes a steep learning curve. It took me some time to actually learn how to drive our car and find the sweet spot. I pulled a 1.84 60 foot with beat up oem tires with 10k miles on them and 1.70 with drag radials.
You gotta use your twinkle toes to gradually add throttle starting at 70-75%. It works, trust me. Check the video in my signature.

I'm really surprised. You're in L.A where it is typically warm. What you're experiencing seems to be a characteristic when the tires are cold. When the tires are over 80 degrees I feel pretty confident in my traction unless of course I'm driving in a manner where I would expect the car to break loose hence I'm prepared. No matter what though in 1st gear at a stop in straight-line if you floor it would break loose.

Checked tire pressure? Try lower end of recommended range.

I'm near the beach so it's 60s when I'm driving. And it does do it worse when it's cold. They seem to take a long time to come up to temp. I'll mess with pressures, that's a good idea. I know how to pedal a car but there so much unusable during my short drives to work.

Despite having adequate tread, the nature of the compound changes with repeated heat/cool cycle. Not as sticky. Not a tread issue. I believe these tires' 'sweet spot' are between 500 and 8000 miles...at least for my first set.

I would agree. I am at 17000km with 40% tread remaining using a gauge. However the tires are VERY easy to break out. Running 31# in tires.

I feel however this is the nature of an M car. Not really built to be a daily driving, short haul machine. Fortunately I have company provided transport to work and the dealer fully explained to me what I was getting into with power these machines put out.

Good thought. It's a 4th car for me so not driven a lot. Lots of tread depth left. Might be a hardening compound issue. I think it would be way more fun with a stickier tire. I'll have to research... Thanks for the suggestions.

I have Nitto NT05 305 width on my rear... way stickier and faster because of it too.

I think the NT05's are not as sticky as PSS's and they cant hold their temps as good. Tested them multiple times on the street and track. Ended up in the garbage bin.

40 psi is a lot unless your doing 125 mph+
