M5 Key Holder
The "key holder" in the cup holder isn't great because you cannot close it with the key in the slot.
The ash tray is a waste of space.. even if I smoked I wouldn't smoke in my car. Took out the removable ash tray, and what do you know.. perfect place for your key, and it closes no problem. This isn't earth shattering news but curious if others use it for something else. I have seen laser jammer installs utilize that space.. which is another really good idea. I might do that. @kylek13 you can get anything you want, but you have to be willing to pay a premium for it.
@johnsama86 so do I most of the time. other times I leave it in the center (when you could in the E60). @wrsbmw it's Amaro Brown (cohiba is much darker), heres another photo:

So, how much was the contrast stitching? and where did you see "all the options" including your choice in leather, did your dealer get a list from BMW NA or is there one online?

As others have requested, do you mind elaborating more about your interior. It looks great. I'm interested in the extra cost of a custom leather color, and for the stitching. Also, I'm assuming the Alcantara is also Amaro Brown... is that included with the cost of the custom leather as well? Finally, how much extra time did these items add to your production time. Thanks.
Otherwise, thanks for the input regarding the key space.

I am only asking because, I specifically asked if I could get contrast stitching and was told no. Basically I was told I could get Individual colors (limited, definitely not all the colors I have seen subsequently...I got Frozen Grey) and there were a few individual interiors but nothing really stood out. I know for a fact your choice was not on the list I saw. I just want to know the process so when I order my next car, I can get what I want...

I'm interested in your interior as well . . .
Now, about your question . . . I toss the key fob in the driver's door pocket. Not perfect, but better than seeing it out in the middle of the console.

When I inquired about contrast stitching is was ~5600$ on top of the cost of extended / full individual (leather dash/doors etc)
As mentioned by the OP you can pretty much order any combination today , your dealer just needs to contact the BMW NA order desk and have them submit the order to BMW HQ Your wallet is pretty much the limit... Amaro Brown is one of the nicest interior colors and it was my #1 , but it was too light for my taste to go with Brilliant White (needed a stronger contrast)

Love the color.. Lighter than the Cohiba but very close to the Dakota I had in my 550i.. Wish I'd of known you could special order this though pricey!

He may have. I was also quoted $5600 for contrast stitching on the top of $6825 for Full Platinum. However it may be the case that if you bundle a lot of individual options it is less expensive. I don't know.
Avinch's interior is very special though. I don't think I have seen an amaro brown interior on an M5 anywhere. It may be the only one in the world like this.

Beautiful interior, although for me it wouldn't be worth the cost. As far as the key holder goes, I usually just leave it in my pocket but this would be a good alternative.
