2014 individual M5 in Northern NJ

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Posting after a while. Have enjoyed my E90 for over a year now. Just had a baby, so want to move to something bigger and it's a perfect excuse to get M5. Wife has agreed!

Long post, so pls bear with me. Want to get a 2014 M5 with following:
- moonlight metallic
- amaro brown
- dark wood
- exec
- driver assistance plus
- lightning
- 20" wheels
- B&O
Questionable on rear seat entertainment - won't iPad holders just be a better deal? Can you plug in hdmi devices into rear seat entertainment?
- Night vision (just for the heck of it)

Total coming to $119,875. Checked edmunds.com and saw invoice of ~$107K. Plan on keeping the M5 for 6-8 years. So I am guessing leasing won't be a good idea? Also would sell / trade my e90.

Can you guys recommend:
- any particular dealers in norther NJ that will be more likely to sell for near invoice?
- how long should it take the car to be delivered if I order it this Saturday? Want to make calls starting tomorrow and have the process rapped by Saturday at latest.
- any views on moonlight metallic color? I have never seen it in person but absolutely love the multiple tones in varied lights from pics.
- any views of amaro brown interior? Again never seen it but looks really nice in pics. I am a sucker for shades of brown.
- live in jersey city and roads here are bad. My e90 was horrible when it had run flats (sports package). I removed run flats and ride became better - not perfect but much better. If anyone has owned an e90 with sports, can you comment on if the m5 ride in comfort is better than e90 sports package with run flats?
- to add to that, would competition package make it worse? I think 560hp is enough for me to handle as it is, but more concerned about ride quality with it, especially with a newborn in the back.
- called BMW of Bridgewater since my parents have gotten a car there before. The sales guy was helpful with my basic questions today but I felt I was getting skinned on my trade-in. He said it would likely be about 17k since that price for a car in an auction. My e90 has 65k miles on it, 2009, sports, premium, cold weather, nav, parking sensors, and satellite radio. I paid 27k for it last year and have driven it about 10k miles in 15 months. 17k seems like a lowball. Views? Just sell it privately? Car is immaculate (Hand waxed and detailed, indoor heated garage, and no scratches. Small ding from valet on rear passenger side wheel arch).

Thanks! Looking forward to helpful replies!

Just to add, want to wrap up Friday based on what I have heard so far that custom ordering a car can take 15+ weeks. Willing to wait, would like to order asap if its that long. Can anyone comment on the timeframe? Thanks,

Had sent a request from Edmunds dealer track yesterday. Bloomfield called me today and are working on a price quote. He told me 4-6 weeks for delivery compared to 12-15+ weeks I heard at Bridgewater!

We are in a similar situation (trading in 2009 e90 for a 2014 m5). My e90 has about 60k miles and 1 minor carfax incident. I do not have parking sensors or cold weather. I do have technology package, nav, and premium. 27k seems like a great price to pay last year for it. Simply look at autotrader and they are still going in the 30+ range.

My dealer offered me 33k on trade. I am paying about 1k over invoice for the 2014 m5.

Bmw of bloomfield and michael castoria is a ripoff. They were asking for 2.5k plus invoice for the m5 and they were marking up the m3 4k over msrp.

You should be getting below invoice with the current dealer cash.

Maybe they bumped up the trade to cover dealer cash? Sales tax is brutal in TN so having a higher trade is better for savings.

If not, i might have to talk to them about this (planning on ordering later this week).

That's an awesome deal on e90. I am looking on kbb and for my car it's saying that a fair retail price is 22K. How is your coming out at 30+k? I will check cars.com too to see what they are going for but I have my doubts that it will be anything for 25k.

I just went through the same process. I ended up getting the M5 at invoice but a few dealers (like Orange BMW in New York) were willing to give me 1500 under invoice which was the dealer cash. I ended up going to the local dealer and paying invoice for the convenience. I traded a 2010 E90 M3 with 20,000 miles and got 38,000 for the trade which I still think is light but I didn't have the time to take it to a bunch of dealers to improve the trade. I'm very happy with the new M5 vs the M3. Now I just need to put 1200 miles on it....

Anyone who have a "trade" should be doing a hell alot better than invoice. Dealer will be making so much more in your trade, there is a lot of room for negotiation.

Anyone who walks in with no trade should be getting an invoice on any custom order M5.

btw...most care dealers will use Galves for the trade in value. You can pay online for a quote. My quote was higher than the book the dealer used which I didn't understand but they showed me the book. The other thing is will they lock in your trade in value if the new car won't arrive for such a long time? I purchased a car that was already at the port so only had to wait a week.

Can't find any 335i xdrive 4 door fully loaded for more than 30k. Most in 65k miles seem to be around 22-25k range. I am amazed your dealer offered you 33k for that. Can you give more details?

Just realized something peculiar while configuring the car. The individual leather options are listed as "extended" for $5K in M5, while the individual leather options for M6 are listed as "full". Anyone configure their M5 with an individual option - can you comment if it was indeed extended or full. Would not make sense for it to be extended. James Porrazzo at Tenafly is checking for me as well (Super helpful SA). Thanks

You have to pay more to get Individual "Full", in the US; it is about $1800 on top of the individual option. In Canada for some reason it is like $6000 more.

Also you are probably looking at a +4month delivery for an Individual car.
