M5 in heavy heavy traffic
Hey guys,
Finally sold my M3, and just waiting for a house purchase to go through before I am "allowed" to purchase an M5. The car will be my daily driver and anyone who drives through central London knows what a right PITA it can be. I always found my M3 coped ok with it but a bit reluctant none the less. Point being was that unless I was in the most aggressive settings which isnt comfortable in heavy traffic, Id often struggle to fire it into a tight gap. Can you guys tell me what the f10 is like in this environment? I'm guessing that the cars far superior torque makes it easier to transition from lazy cruise to racer without the need to press m1, m2, etc |

You will have no problems what so ever in the comfort settings and find the ride is significantly more comfortable. The M5 does well in heavy stop and go traffic.

You can run throttle in sport+ (aggressive) and suspension in comfort. Problem solved. This car has no issues shooting a gap. Tranny is phenomenal.

Thanks guys! This is very reassuring.
I will definitely look to change the stock exhaust. It was by far the best mod (m perf ) on my m3 as I could enjoy it without taking it up to 8k rev all the time |

My M5 is used a lot in stop go traffic. Its brilliant at playing the role of a daily driver as well. No issues at all. Very comfortable in the efficient settings. Obviously a totally different beast on empty stretches of roads!

Assuming this is 'free for all' Mumbai traffic? If so, London should be a walk in the park by comparison

I've driven the M5 in heavy traffic for a week now (Amsterdam-Rotterdam area, similarly congested as London). Coming from the diesel daddy 535d, my observations are:
I was a bit skeptical to use the M5 as a DD (my M3 was way too nervous for that) but it turned out right.

I don't do much city stuff but I would worry with wearing the clutch when creeping forward. Stop start stuff will be fine but driving at 3 or 4 miles per hour the clutch must be slipping all the time. It would be worth finding out speed at 1000rpm then you would know at what speed the clutch will b fully engaged.

from dp's to very end i went with resonated centre pipes and muffler-free back box if u decide to go with eisenmann, i have very good discount, so shoot me PM ps. dont like the idea of cutting OEM exhaust, but i had back box only on m3, no cutting required i always take everything off the car and sell all the parts separate, u get much more money back |
