2014 M6 GC

had it for the day, it just felt under powered compared to my LCI M5, even the wife did not flinch when I red lined it in three gears.
It felt easier to point and the steering felt slightly lighter in comfort, but as for real grunt NO. My M5 would have ripped the rears to smoke doing that, could it be a "Duffer"?.
It felt 50/60BHP down on mine. 7th felt a little longer also.
It had 4K miles on it and I was told it had been driven hard, but if the M6 are all soft like this I don't want one, anyone?.

I agree with you John, I also found it very cramped inside.

Agreed. The M5 has more headroom and more comfortable seats.

The one they currently have exhibited at the Welt does look amazing though. I think its pure metal silver, but it may be another silver/gray color.

Perhaps it was in limp mode ?

Seriously, I find it had to believe that the same S63Tu in a different car would put out that much less power, or that the weight would be so much more that the car felt that sluggish.

Doesn't make sense ?

I was in Sport+ on everything, and it felt "Soft" so I will test drive another one (when I can find one locally) and compare them.
I was disappointed in it TBH, I was really looking forward to driving one.
It must have a problem, it was a 13 Plate here that means early 2013 car could this be the difference?.

Agreed and I leave my steering in Sport all the time, It was more the lack of shear grunt that was missing here, even my wife commented how tame it was compared to the LCI M5 I have.
Still I will check others, the guys on here would not accept a car that felt soft like this one i am sure of that.

Atypical. A correctly functioning M6GC drives exactly like an M5 but feels a bit better because of its lower CoG and wider wheel base.

I drove it on track and on streets in Austin at M Track Days 2013.

M6GC. However it wasn't apples to apples. The M5 they provided was worn out, and the M6GC was brand new and also had CCBs.

If I compare it to my own M5, then the cars are very very similar. If gun put to head I marginally prefer M6GC for driving experience, but it's not $20k better, and the M5 has much better seats and rear passenger space.

If you had the choice of only one extra out these two which would you choose?.
CCB or C Pack.
I ask as I am thinking M6 Coupe next with CCB as my driving is road only.

Neither. I like the CCB, but I don't like that they excluded it from our 4 year free maintenance plan. With CP, I like some elements if it, but I don't like the ride quality and occasional loss of contact with stiffer suspension given the roads I drive on.

If I lived elsewhere with better roads I'd get the C Pack.

Exactly. I do think the driver's cockpit of the M6GC is the single best one BMW has from a ergonometrics, human factors engineering, and looks sense. Not enough time in those seats to judge comfort... but for the rear seats and the sight lines, I much prefer the 5.

I *think* that CCBs are covered now. The clause thatused to be in the build your own option blurb stating that they were not covered has been removed, and someone else had posted on one of the 3 major forums that they were covered now.

I think you meant to say rear track (F10 M5 and F06 M6 GC have identical wheelbases).

M6 GC rear track is 3.3" wider than M5. However, the opposite is true for the front track (i.e. M5 front track is 1.1" wider than M6 GC).

I personally like the interior and exterior of the m5 better. So to me the m6, either gc or coupe, would have to perform $ 20,000.00 better on the road.
Base price of m6gc is almost £25K ($40K) more than base m5 in UK

M6 also does not benefit from lci options such as touch sensitive I drive controller.

I do think the gc can look better than the gc in the right colour (looks great in metallic black), however, I personally prefer the m5 as it can blend better.

I think you should ask why is a m5 30k more than a M3 it's the same argument. You can't do a cost basis analysis on cars because it never ends. Its all based on the buyers perception on value. I had a 550 and a 650 two diffent cars, and the 650 was cleary a better care based on the options. Not saying the 5 was a bad car, but a 6 is a low volume car which makes it more expensive. Count how many 5 you see 6ers, and I think you have your answer on pricing. You can always charge a premium on a lower production car no matter if you think it's fair or not. Buy what you like, and that's all that matters.

I saw a M6GC individual in the concept store at the Champs Élysées last weekend that has me thinking about it. Frozen Grey, cohiba interior with contrast stitching and blacked out wheels.

The problem - it was listed at €140,000. At that price it's up against cars like the S63, S8, etc...

Could just be the weather. Depending on temp, time of day, my M5 feels strong then other days, it's meh. All my past turbo cars have had Jekyll and Hyde personalities depending on the weather.

Really $ 25,000.00 more.

Agree with all points, performance is pretty much the same. The difference in the real world negligible but there is something about a Manual F06 M6 GC that turns me ON!
