I generally like a stock look with subtle mods that only an enthusiast's eye would notice. Over the last few days, I installed H&R springs, body color side grilles and a body color RKP front splitter. Inside is Rogue's short-throw kit and IND's tri-color boot. For protection, I went with the Escort 9500ix + Escort Live and Laser Interceptor systems (all nicely integrated into the front grilles, rear lid and interior console). Upgraded audio and maybe exhaust are next . . .

A few call outs: We all use Nate and Ilia's names so often that we take them for granted. But IND is almost the only name an M5 modder needs to know. Great, great guys. Also, I'm incredibly lucky to have Turner Motorsport in my backyard. Not only is their work superb, but you get to drool at a parking lot full of cool BMW street and race cars while you wait (and I got to play in one of their heavily modded M5s and a 1 Series ActiveE). Those of us in the Boston area know that some of the most anal audio and detector installers are at Sound in Motion. It takes a lot to "out-anal" me and, well . . . Finally, I've had the misfortune to befriend fellow M5Post member jmh. He's helping me with coding. A word of warning - DO NOT meet this man unless you have a secret bank account that your wife does not know about. I think each time I'll see jmh's M5, I'll spend another thousand dollars on something that I had no idea that I just had to have. Sick.

Have it in LCI Sakhir Orange 2014
And I believe this car is a beauty bone stock
And I am sure I won't touch mine -; )
But Happy to see some mods for M5 and they look nice too and unique..
Enjoy it

Thanks ep.

The M's in hibernation for the winter, so no pics of LI the switch. I installed the European headlight switch with the rear foglight button. My installer then installed a non-LI switch above the rear foglight button. It filled in the empty space, matches the existing foglight button well, and looks very stock.

My 9500ix is installed high on the windshield, so my installer put a small LI LED in the rearview mirror housing so that I could look up and see all the visual alerts in the same area. All-in-all, it's a pretty sweet install.

The vertical front sensors may be slightly too recessed. They did test out ok but with a possible issue if a laser gun was shot downward, from an overhead bridge. If I did it all over again, I'd probably move then outward 1/8 - 1/4", but since I've only seen laser guns shot from road level in my area, I think they're a good form/function compromise for now.

Agree, and great to see another SO! Took delivery of mine 9/12, and many compliments on the color. My sales guy talked me into it as my first choice was SG. The color looks better in color, and very cool at night!

I agree - and where I reside I must take level of stealth into consideration. They absolutely must look as OEM as possible. I removed the mounting tabs and I am having them taped to a vertical grill slat. Being done right now. I will test the hell out of them and report back - but the extreme off axis vulnerability is a compromise I will have to make in order to keep them recessed enough that they don't attract attention. I think I will be happily surprised.

Thanks for the quick reply.

do you (or anyone else here) know if the foglight button can be wired to operate/power the LI - or is it one of those high-tech switches that must be programmed? I am having the LI power button installed in the roof/top of the little glovebox to the left of the column for now. pretty damn hidden and accessible - but it'd sure be sweet to have that OEM foglight button activate it!!

thoughts?!
