call them out on it - MB tried this with me b/c I specified a delivery date to coincide with my lease. They were just going to let my car sit at the port for a month - i called them on it and they gave me $1k off to make up for it.

The information available online at bmwusa.com is the most unreliable source of information available to you - it is almost always wrong/delayed by weeks or months, etc.

What a shame. With all the cool things BMW is capable of their website timeline is useless. Why do they have it if it is 2 days to 1 week off. Luckily my dealer and I have a good relationship and I get daily updates, but why can't they allow the customer to have the same info available as to the dealer?

I have the opposite problem. The BMW site still says finishing touches but the car is already sitting in my garage. It seems so random. Maybe I have ur car. Good luck.

BMW site is not too bad... based on tracking with my VIN#, I followed it using the shipping company's tracking page...ship just reached NY yesterday... So if the ship makes port, and you know your car is on that ship, then you've got a pretty darn good idea where the car should be. So, right on que, MYBMW just changed from En-Route to Finishing Touches TODAY so that corresponds to the ships info... pretty spot on. Now we'll see how long it takes to get from NY to CT. Dealer says 5 days tops. Getting excited now!!

I took my 1980 320i in for an oil change and they gave me your M5 as a loaner.
Your steering wheel is tough to use, it gets really slippery when eating fast food. Plus the trunk is too small to fit compost in it. Had to make 2 trips. |
