Cool! Picked mine up from carmax back in september. You can deff find some jems there (bought my ZR1 from carmax and traded back for the M) Just make sure to check the paint and make sure there aren't any deep scratches etc.. as they seem to run their cars through a drive-thru wash. I even had them throw the car on a lift so i can check the undercarriage for any damage/previous mods etc..

I've bought several cars from CM in the past. Always have them place it on the lift to look for issues, leaks, damage etc. Already had the paint gone over prior to shipping it and from the reports given it is in excellent shape. Trust me, I'll be going over it with a fine tooth comb and the moment I take delivery it's going to my local BMW shop (owned by a friend) to have it gone over.

Interior also looks to be in excellent shape, no smells no undue wear on the leather etc.

UGH! I want my car to arrive!!! Been driving my older Jeep Wrangler for a few weeks now and am ready to bask in the luxury and power of the M5! I'll probably get in the car and not get out for a few hours when I get it. Made a friend at the local BMW dealer ship who is going to give me the new car buyer experience and go over all systems with me to familiarize me with the car!

That interior is pure sex. After the purchase of the car, my wife would likely kill me if I dropped the coin on a new CF interior though, will have to wait. I might have a major promotion coming up at work and if I get what I hope to get I may just treat myself!

NICE! To your knowledge, does Carmax incorrectly label listings? Your listing is still available as I was looking again. Beautiful car! But they mentioned nothing about comp pack in the listing. Pretty sure you double checked with a vin decoder. Did you find other mistakes like this with your searches?

There are often times they do not do their due diligence. Those are the times I pounce like Hobbes the tiger! They listed the stereo in the car as an HK but its the B&O. I did my diligence and researched the car properly and it is indeed a CP, B&O, Exec pack, DAP and more.

Spec sheet from BMW attached.

Cool. Wasn't doubting your car but now I know I shouldn't take what the description says for face value going forward on my search.

Most definitely not.

BMWVIN.com is a good resource to run a VIN against.

Once I take delivery I'll update this thread with good pics and more information.

Yeah, around 7k. Considering that it covers pretty much everything the factory warranty covers and how much just a single repair could cost it’s well worth it.

I was expecting that much was quite surprised at the quote I got. Maybe lower mileage cars get better deals.

When was this? Back in 2012 I bought an E60 M5 and paid about 2500 for 125/5 Maxcare. In two years the car cost CNA 40k in repairs. I think they wised up on the costs of M5 repairs since then.
Long story for a time when I’m not on my iPhone.

Well, the car arrived in RVA Saturday evening around 8PM. Carmax has to do its inspection and service the car and then it will be ready for delivery. I hope to be behind the wheel tomorrow or Wednesday!

I'll keep this updated and definitely post a ton of pics upon pickup.

So I can pick up the car tomorrow. Bank ran the numbers on it and though the price at CM is 49,995.00 the bank values it at 61,500!!!

Someone at CM didn't do their proper research on this one!

Cannot wait to get behind the wheel!

I’d venture to say the bank’s the one off on the valuation; these cars are simply not moving and you’re seeing 14’s in the mid-high 40’s.

Fair enough, but I have seen them moving quite frequently at Carmax over the past year as I've been keeping a close eye. Right now they have a 14 non comp pack, non B&O pretty basic build with 55K on the odo for 49K. Mine has 39XXX miles and is very well optioned for 1K more.

I was not implying your deal’s not good, simple stating the car’s not worth what the bank says.

I think you got a good deal if buying from Carmax was important to you.
They definitely priced yours lower than what is normal for them.
The only reason I typically avoid carmax is that the exterior of their cars are too worn for my liking.
