Strikes me as odd to have this come up following a single hard acceleration, wet road or not. I would imagine that in the absence of ceramics, your brakes should be the first thing to give you a problem at the track w/ all nannies off. Would never expect to see this following a spirited run...I would have it checked out.

Whether it's LC or not, as long as you turn DSC OFF and floor the gas (at first gear from dead stop), you are putting maximum stress on clutch and transferring maximum torque to the wheels with no power cut off. How many miles you have on the clock?

i forgot to mention that my original dct gearbox was producing noise at 4th and 6th gear, so the dealership decided to change it, i didnt have this issue when i accelerated with my old gearbox.

so the current dct gearbox that is installed is brand new ( it has 2875 miles on it)

is there any software update or something for f10 m5 dct gearboxes?

or maybe the dealer forgot something when they installed the new gearbox?

transmission

If I may throw something in the mix here.
I do not believe that there is anything that has to do with temps, unless the car took a serious beating ( did it ??? )
In my opinion it is going to be a gremlin in the wire works ( software ).
If the transmission works flawlessly, and there is nothing abnormal in the gear changes, sounds ( noises or such ). It will take some time to decipher but it is going to be something idiotic ( simple ).
Hope that helps.

nope, like i drove the car total of 12 km which is like 8 miles of normal driving then i got the vehicle in operational tempretuare and then accelerated.

so no hard driving before.

the gearbox doesnt feel strange when it shifts neither it produces noise,

sometimes the car will bump when i put it in R coming from D.
is this normal?

It can be nothing important (simple electronic glitch) or many things (software update, low level of transmission oil, improper installation, incorrect clutch kiss-point, etc If I were you, I would visit the dealer who installed the new DCT to make sure everything is fine. Question: when they replaced your DCT, did they set up a new brake-in service and did you follow the proper brake-in recommendation? the reason i'm asking because at 10k mile on the clock (4-5 months ago) I had the clutch replaced on my car and then I followed the brake-in and did not hard acceleration for about 2k. I also recall getting the similar error one time after 4-5 sequential hard acceleration at about 4k mile with new clutch...

well The dealer gave me an inspection date on Friday the 13th. and said they will have a look into it . as for your Q the answer is NO . they didn't mention anything about a brake-in service or period . once i got the car back i drove directly to Hamburg with it (about 350 miles) with speeds between 155-195 miles/h with the new DCT with sequential shifts most of the time and not even once got this warning. after i got back i drove the rest 2k miles in the city with hard accelerations but never with DSC completely off again not even once the warning untill i decided to turn it off to burn some rubber and bammm .

When I see those ring taxis flying around, I can't see how the M5 would suffer from that unless there is more to this than meets the eye, ie. some mechanical issue that resulted during the DCT replacement.

I employed a hard break in on my M5 as have many others. Once my engine oil was to operating temperature, I let it fly...from mile 1. Never saw this error.

I agree, a checkup is called for here.

If you turn the car off, it goes into Park.

Then you re-ignite the engine, and it will start up and remain in P... until you touch the shifter.

Short of that... I agree we have to use Neutral with the electronic parking brake engaged...(which is probably the equivalent of what is really going on when you shutoff and restart).

Yes if re-ignite the engine with gear it goes park. If you re-ignite in N you have to push again when it goes park. But without shutdown the engine it is not possible put car park position.
