I know this thread is old but it's a good thing the OP walked away from this deal. I just Googled the VIN number of this car and it was in a front end collision. Car was written off as a total loss by the insurance company and sold at auction. I'm in the market for an F10 M5 and it's so hard to find a legit clean car in the Atlanta market.

Good to know. I live in TN and avoid any car in the ATL area used. The 3 times I have driven to that area to buy a car, it has had something significantly wrong. I knew the M5 had been painted significantly but no idea on the totaled status. Carfax was clean when I pulled it.

Yeah it's definitely a problem in the Atlanta area. I've run across so many cars that have clean carfaxes and clear titles only to find out they've been wrecked and put back together. Not all F10 M5s but its apparently not that difficult to get a clear title issued on a wrecked/totaled car.

Did you end up finding one that fit the bill?

Dang. I've seen a few that I like but prices are all over the place. I don't really know what I should pay for one. Do individual paint colors increase the price?

Overall individual paint doesn’t add much value. Pure Metal Silver paint is different animal and much more rare and expensive.

Ok. There's a small local dealer here selling a blue one and he's asking $67K for it with almost 50k miles on it. I think it's a 2014. Says that it's the only one in the US with that paint color. Apparently the car was imported from Canada.

That one looks like Lagunaseca Blue, probably 1 of 1 because of the blue / brown combo but I don't think its worth that imo. Another thing to look out for to is when financing these cars the bank will only let you finance the retail value on it which is probably closer to $40k's for a 2014 with that mileage. Of course given credit / history & debt to income ratio they may let you finance a little bit more but you'd have to come up with the rest out of pocket

Looks like whoever bought it totaled that car at a later time. Auction was in December 2022.

Yep that's the one. I was skeptical of it anyway due to the fact that's imported from Canada but he assured me there would be no issues with it. He also has bright orange one too for around the same price that he doesn't have listed on his website.

I'm just trying to find one in the $40-$45K range in decent condition that hasn't been wrecked and less than 70K miles. Proving to be extremely difficult. I have the cash for one in that range. Otherwise I'll end up spending more for an F90.

Try to look outside of your state you may find way better deals depending on the type of car of course..Before my Pure Metal F10 I actually traveled from NJ to Marietta to purchase my M4 because they were priced $8k-$12k less. If the deal is right you should travel states away for it.

Yeah. I've expanded my search and I see a few that catch my eye out west (California, Arizona, etc) but when I factor in taxes and shipping I get out of my comfort zone as far as price.

I may need to relax my demands a bit as far as one owner cars, Plus I just don't trust dealers to relay the exact condition of the cars as far as paint condition and overall condition of the interior. It's very possible that i'm just being too picky.

No such thing as being too picky when making a big purchase. I'd stay patient and see what else comes along your way that works out in favor for all parties. I would also suggest to try and see if you can get a PPI by a reputable shop to inaure that the vehicle lives up to its conditions overall
