Errors galore

I'm driving home yesterday from work when all of a sudden an error code flashes on my idrive screen. Rear differential lock error (drive moderately). Then another code flashes... steering error (drive moderately). At that point, my steering wheel seizes and it feels like I've lost power steering. THEN 3 more errors flash. Another steering (I think same as the first one), Parking Brake Reduced (don't know what that means) then restraint system (airbags and seatbelts).

Needless to say I'm a bit startled and worried that either A) it's just a computer glitch or B) the whole car will soon shut down while on the road.

So, I stop as soon as I can and turn off ignition and restart. All errors gone.

I have an appt next week to bring her in but have any of you guys seen this? Here are pics I took. The picture of my dash all lit up like a christmas tree is at a stop light. It looks like every error light is lit lol

Also notice the digital speedometer in the lower left hand side only reads "---"

Sounds like a "Software glitch". Have you shut down waited 10 mins and restarted, it may just clear.

I would suggest bringing the car in for a quick diagnosis even if they clear after the car 'resets'.. All they will do is plug it into their computer to read out any stored codes.. should only take under 15-20 minutes.

Oh man... it was just in the shop for a month waiting for a new CV joint from Germany.

Did the dealership say your ICM module was FUBARed?

krown,

Any update on the status of your vehicle? My service dept. is STILL waiting on the part from Germany - it's already been 3 weeks. This is bringing back flashbacks of the 335i fuel pump debacle.

I just dropped it off this morning to do an oil change as well. I sent my SA your link for her to read and she would bring it up with the techs. I haven't heard back from her yet.

update: they checked everything and everything looked ok. They reset the ICM and told me to monitor it. Not much more I guess they can do.
