Dinan Stage 2 = Blown Coils And Plugs

I currently have a 14' comp package with the dinan stage 2 and I've been having to take my car to the dealership every 20 to 30 days with the same issue, blown coils/plugs and I'm being told this is normal occurrence due to the high boost.

Are you guys experiencing this with your tunes, and are you guys running a different plug and coil pack with your tuned cars to prevent this from happening as often?

Please advise, as this is already been inconveniencing me too much.

Any input is appreciated.

I ran Dinan stage 2 nearly 25K miles on my 13 F10 M5 and never once had blown coils/plugs. I gained 99 whp with mine so I know it was working properly.

I'd get a second opinion.

That's not normal. A ton of us here running high boost without that issues. I bet it's an injector causing the issue.

Take it to a dinan dealer. Even Dinan will agree it's not normal

I left a message for dinan requesting a call back. Let's see what they have to say.

Regarding the injector, it keeps changing the cylinder that had the issue every time, and last time bmw approved to change all coils and plugs on the car and it still happened on a random cylinder again.

Any other thoughts on why this could be happening?

It's probably a fault with their electronics. Should never blow coils/plugs. Check all your ground connections with the install or in general.

Even with 1000hp, coils and plugs don't blow!

What is the issue you are having and what codes?

Running hi boost can cause missfires, MAL's and put load on the coils.

Many of us running hi boost have had to re-gap our plugs down to between 18 and 22 from the OEM setting to stop issues.

Never experienced that problem before myself.
I had a 2015 M6 with Dinan stage 2 for 20,000 miles.
Never had 1 issue with the tune / engine performance myself

Are you having a Dinan / BMW dealership diagnose the car or is it a non-Dinan shop ?

Well that explains it. The tune isn't for catless setups.

No, that doesn't explain it. I had an active autowork tune before that and had 0 issues. You can run Dinan tunes with catless downpipes, you just won't have a cold start delete with it.

You think nobody running a Dinan tune is catless?

I had catless downpipes with Dinan stage 2, and only issue was a fault code for catalytic convertor missing

Soup Nazi, did you ever get your problems resolved? If so, what was the issue? I currently have Dinan Stage 1 with no issues but looking to move to Stage 2. I have 2013 M5.

That's a drag. Did Dinan help you try and resolve the issue? What is their take on the problem?
