I actually read it on a listing from turner motorsport regarding 1-step colder NGK spark plugs. It's in the product details section. Although, not really sure if it actually could do any harm or not, i've never tried.

Update

Just a quick update.

I've put almost 2,000 miles on the new plugs - stock heat range but the "updated" part number per Bosch, as referenced earlier in this thread. No issues to report. Since I also replaced all of the injectors and coils at the same time, I can't say the plugs made any impact, but I CAN say they haven't caused any issues yet.

Did you use the Bosch 8165 plugs? The are $4.73 each at Rockauto!
