Some have it some don't. From what I've been told that is.

If your pulling up to a stop, as your m5 is stopping that is where you will hear it the most.
Its Waste gates closing, and rattle is most apparent at that point.

Or, at idle, while standing in front of the car with hood open, have someone blip the throttle a couple times and as the RPMs drop you can hear it. Everyone has it but depending on your exhaust setup will factor into how loud it will be. Completely straight piped it was very noticeable. When I added resonators, I barely hear it any more.

7 hours for downpipes?! We charge 3.5 @ $120/per.

Give m6beast a shout and see if he can arrange an install for you!

Just be ready for a rattle thats annoying.
But the sound from going catless is heavenly.
The rattle is just one annoying consequence of going catless because the waste gates rattle and BMW has done nothing about it.

Any idea if there will be a big difference to the sound levels from inside the cabin?

As moved over fron R35 cos of sound inside cabin was very irritable on long journeys.

Some say increase in sound inside with DP fitted won't be very much as cars are very well sound proofed

Been advised to get some back boxes fitted to lesson the sound but don't want the extra hassle of sourcing them

Its much louder, I usually cruise around with one of my valves closed.
NO cabin noise or very very little. But when its open, its loud.
So if your on your phone alot, then something to think of.

Keep in mind my opinion is based off of my own car, and I have Active sound still on, havn't got around to getting it coded yet.

Thanks..do you have straight pipes also? Or still have your backboxes?

Not too fussed about sound outside more worried about cabin sound inside as still want to retain the refiness of the car as noticed a lot of people either selling theirs or going for the catted downpipes..just presumed it was because of the excessive cabin noise that they found irritating..

Will getting Active Sound coded out make a difference ?

Thanks in advance ..sitting on fence at present ..heart wants to go with DP brain is looking at realities besides is it a very noticeable difference when removing them as car is already stage 2 mapped by DMS

The car is significantly louder with catless downpipes combined with a freeflowing exhaust. I have RPI catless DP's with a full Meisterschaft from downpipes back and it does sound like an angry monster at every RPM level. Its a deep howl and the whistle of the turbos is loud and lovely. The wastegate rattle is severe. I was convinced the shop didnt tighten something at first. Cold starts are almost embarrassing. I love it but I also have a conscience about the car and how i drive. Especially in my neighborhood.

I have the valves. Definitely worth the money but won't quiet pipes down that much. It's just a little less loud.

That's my setup. I have no resonators or mufflers plus downpipes. Sounds amazing. Turn off active sound.

Just get a tune and have the 02 sensors and cold start deleted.

We have been very pleased with the full Supersprint product line for the F10 M5 and F12/3 M6. They have been an industry standard for so many years with their quality Italian fabrication.

Their price point is also in the same neighborhood as many of the common competitors.

Good point. I already spent the money on the latest JB4 setup. Do your wastegates rattle as severely as I described mine to do?

That is hilarious that you said that.
I parked my car in the garage and didn't turn it on til I got a apt for a tune.
I literally pushed the tune faster then I wanted to, just to get rid of cold start.

Let me tell you the car starts now silently, well almost. 1000% improvement.

Your rattle sounds great?
Or are you one of the lucky 10%< that don't get the rattle after going catless?

My full 3" dp-exhaust
If you get flash tune u can delete cold start mode and that is more worth it than having cutouts of open/close valves
Mine has minimal to no rattle at all.

Any loss of low end power .?

Was speaking to DMS as possible they will need to remap to remove cel error after downpipes fitment and they mentioned might be very slight loss of power at low end but gains at top end

Any one experienced above?

Thanks

F10M5MANUAL Thanks for the Video
