Looking for more power , Meth Kit Next?

Currently running catless dp's, turner exhaust and ESS tune . What can you guys recommend next to bump some more power out of it without upgrading the turbos. I'm thinking meth kit, any downsides ? Also which kit is popular that works on our cars?

Where is your power at now? WHP? Its possible you still have some power left on the table with a tune.

Once you've maxed out your power with the current setup, I believe your next step would be the following:

JB4 + BCM - Push boost further than what the ECU is limited to
Meth
Tune to support the additional boos & meth.
If you have DCT, you'll need clutch upgrades

i have no idea how much power I'm currently putting down. Im pretty sure ESS flashed my car to a safe point. but the tune and cat less dp's did make a huge different in power for me. I'm thinking of doing the stag1 pure turbo upgrade and updated ess tune.

I don't think you will see any benefit upgrading the Turbo's just yet. Your ECU is limited to 23 PSI which the stock turbo's will handled perfectly. You just need an upgraded tune to get you that power left on the table.

In order to exceed that ECU limitation, you need the JB4 w/BCM and supporting tune to push it past that or upgrade the pressure sensors. You should see power levels exceed 700WHP which means youll need to upgrade your clutches if youre DCT

If you are at 700HP Crank, I think you have a lot left on the table in just a tune. Making that assumption based on your signature which says ESS 700

I have the ESS tune too.
My car probably has bit more in it once the transmission is upgraded.
I would recommend you address the clutch issue before adding more power. My clutches slip under heavy load.

I'm thinking my next mod will bee ESS tune + JB/BCM.

Yup ... You'll need the supporting tune for it. ESS does have a backend flash for it

You should dyno your car before you add anything to see your improvement gains

And also if u end of stacking it. You will be limited with power (not to cross 690whp/trq ) as your clutch would start slipping. (Hence manual i have since stock clutch can hold over 800wtrq

I suggest running boost juice also and prevent meth fire idc what people will say about installment lines or ss lines. It sjust safe imho

First you need a clutch upgrade.
Stage 1 pure turbos then add the methanol with the JB4/BCM kit (required for the methanol control)
You will probably have to ditch the ESS tune because a custom ECU flash will benefit you more or you can run the JB4 with meth and get more gains then what you currently get from ESS

The ESS tune is a generic flash. They don't make a custom tune and I doubt they will be making more products for this engine soon as their focus is on S55 and newer models...I heard this from ESS directly when I spoke to them recently.

Thanks for the info but members here are saying ESS has a revised tune they can offer me to reflash.

http://esstuning.com/bmw/f10-5-series/m5/

I would call ESS and confirm on their stage 2 software and ask the details as I heard from them that it is not available yet.
The backend flash is only for "piggy back" systems.
And my note on a custom flash is because you can get better performance gains (more refined) rather then getting a pre-made flash that someone will load into your ECU.

The ESS Backend Flash is an elevated platform for your piggyback to work from. They were working on S63tu flashes long before the S55 was released. There was just not a viable way to load them onto the DMEs until just last year without visiting their facility.

By itself, the Backend Flash will not provide any additional power since it's not a tune. It will however give you the versatility of the piggyback options while allowing a bit more room for your piggyback to work from as well as other features piggybacks are not capable of delivering on its own.
