... the ugly is certainly factory warranty. By the time a real tuner cracks the code, the next gen of M5 is already at the door.

Took my car to Dinan today. Although I did not do the tune. He said something about a piggy back tune that can be removed whenever you go into service and there would not be any warranty issues. $3.5k or something around there is what he said.

I suggest you go spend 3500 bucks and lets have a race then you can decide. I think you'll be surprised all you're paying for is the name and the so called warranty.... Dinan has some nice stuff but when it comes to tunes past history has always proven a very minimal gain especially when it comes to PRICE/HP
And I can say the BMS will do more and that is from experience.
Ask Dinan if they have a Meth set up, pretty sure that's not in the cards or will ever be.
Good luck and enjoy!

One word "piggyback".

There is only so much you can do with that. You can't reinvent the wheel and every piggyback does the same thing.
BMS is very conservative to be on the safe, but they can push the envelope on race gas. I am not claiming that Dinan make crappy product. What I am claiming is that BMS is the best bang for the buck.
The statement form someone earlier that spoke with Dinan and they mentioned to remove it before going to the dealer tells a big story behind this as well.
Moreover, BMS being slapped from CARB right before Dinan releases their product......everyone here can put 1 and 1 together.
