In my opinion, it's the best looking 4 door BMW ever designed.
Only down side is the price.
With more than 30k base price difference, M6 GC gets pushed into the other price range.
Also, BMW should have put in higher output engine than the M5's to justify the price of M6 GC.
At that price, I would go with 911 Turbo instead.
A new 991 Turbo will run you easily in the $170s w/o a lot of options. The S car will climb over $200K. plus they don't hit the streets until December. Just over $20K base diff in M5 vs. M6 but you get more standard stuff in the GC. It is nicer than the M5 in some ways but in others I prefer the M5. Sort of a toss up depending on what you are looking for. Now as far as the M6 coupe...THAT is the car! Much more connected feeling and sporty than the M5. Hands down more fun to drive. I bought the F12 for my wife and then had to order a new F13 Comp Pkg to replace my M5 because I simply fell in love with the feel of the car. Faster, handles better, seats hold you better, sleeker. Anyone who doubts it really needs to drive one.

I see a 650i GC at parking garage at work quite a bit. It has started to look a bit too big/awkard for me personally. Kind of reminds me of the large american sedans from late 70s early 80s. M5 seems more proportional. I considered it for a bit too, mainly because the headlights are initially a bit more slick but I think the new LCI M5 lights are just as nice.

I test drove an M5 and a 650i GC. I ended up choosing the 6GC.

First of all, I didn't need the extra power in the M5 for what was effectively going to be a daily driver. But the much bigger factor to me was the body roll I felt in the M5.

Coming from a 535i, the body roll felt all too familiar in the M5. Was really disappointed. But the 6GC has none of it. The ride is much more buttoned down. And after I got home, I figured out a big reason....

Look at the specs. The roof on the M5 is 3 inches higher than the 6GC! I think that's quite a difference. If you want a tighter ride, go with the M6GC. Plus the 6GC is the most beautiful car BMW makes as far as I'm concerned.
