Another Daily Driver
Good Morning - what is every one using as a daily instead of their M5? I'm leaning towards a smaller, older, higher mileage M3...am I crazy?
My 2013 M5 deserves a little break. She is at 75k ! Just cant see getting a Japanese car which I probably should. Thanks. |

Surly Karate Monkey. More miles per week on it than the car!

I have an M6 but my daily for now is my 04 Lexus IS300 5 speed. It will soon be receiving a 2JZGTE swap with a single turbo and become a weekend toy. I really enjoy "older" vehicles as a daily driver, I don't care for modern luxury amenities or driver assist features. Might be picking up my uncles 02 Acura 3.5RL with 99k miles in a few weeks as a new daily once I start the engine swap process in my IS.

I have an e46 m3 that I used to daily. Around here, it's easier to daily something without 3 pedals. And the F10 is more comfortable. I guess I'm getting lazy as I get older.

The F10 DCT is the best all rounder for every traffic situation, the creep forward mode is a boon.

I have a m6 vert but picked up a 2013 a6 prestige 3.0t. Super reliable awd with a crank pulley intake and a cheap piggyback it’s a running high 11s and 3.6 sec 0-60. Handles great and super comfortable. Looks identical to an s6. Had a f10 535i m sport as my daily with all the m performance exterior stuff.

My DD is a 2017 Explorer Sport and now that we're back in the office I take the beast in a few days a week. Slowly creeping up towards 21k miles :-)

Both V8's, both diesels. The 03 has some fun stuff on it.

Just picked up a 2010 IS250 AWD from a buddy as he departs for Germany. Gave me a smoking deal on it and it rides good enough.
Just finished up doing the engine oil, transmission and diff fluids, cabin and air filters, and a tire rotation today. Got it aligned and it's running pretty smooth now. I am looking for a walnut blasting service here in Korea though, I have a feeling it's got a ton of carbon buildup and I don't have the patience to mess with the chemical route. |
