Finally switched to winters

First time ever not doing it around Thxgiving. Love these Pirellis. Makes you feel like you can drive the car with confidence in the cold weather, precip or not.

Same here, just did my changeover this weekend and usually do it around Thanksgiving as well. I am running Bridgestone Blizzaks though and step down to 19" for the winter (non-M F10).

How much better is your drive in comparison to the summers? How does the drive feel like?

Yep! I used the Dr Bealsley's sealant and then installed the XPel Stealth wrap for added protection on the hood, bumper, fenders, etc... Cant even see it.

I'll chime in case it is worth something to someone. I put my winters on yesterday afternoon (17 degrees F this morning in Nashville as I write this) and the Pirelli Sottozeros feel great on the car. I also run a 255/285 setup but on the stock 19 rims with a 40 series front and rear. Car is nimble and confidence inspiring in the cold (verses risky and a handful if I left the summers on in the cold).

BTW, I'm always pleasantly surprised at how much more comfortably this setup soaks p the bumps than running 20s with 35/30 series tires. My friends where I work in North Alabama look at me like I am crazy for putting winters on but they just don't know what they are missing as they try to drive with summers year round on their sports cars.

I asked about the weight rating on the 99Vs earlier in the thread because I had some 99Vs previously on the rears that wore unevenly and looked like a weight issue. I have 100V in the front (same tires for 2 years and they were used by the previously owner for a season before that so they are wearing great!) and I just put the new 103V in the rear. BTW, there was a great deal on ebay and that is where I got my 285/40R19s...hard to beat 2 new + shipping for <$300. http://www.ebay.com/itm/191721238002

Clearance, fitment, or trans issues running this on the back? No.
Visually it is an unnoticeable size diff when compared to a 295/30R20. Running them around 35.5 PSI cold.

I can't say for sure, just speculate on the weight rating vs stock tires per Tire Rack / Manufacture data. Would love to hear back after you get 10-20k on them as to whether they are wearing evenly.
