M5 TT: the grills on ebay I think someone on the forum picked them up and the quality was very poor.

I will be calling the dealer tomorrow or on Monday to ask about the side markers. As mentioned by ind the bmw ones will be more durable as they are not painted. In the UK we need durable parts to combat the crap weather. Last edited by M5nut; 01-03-2014 at 03:15 PM.. |

The side markers are not orderable at all as they are not a standard part. BMW GB had a bunch made for the M5 Performance Edition last year. These are actually BMW individual cars. The parts are only orderable via the BMW GB product manager and you have to provide significant evidence to him that you need them. I had the vin and number plate of a M5 Performance Edition but they wanted evidence that I had the above car and evidence that I needed replacement parts. This was also the case with the wheels (and also applied to many of the BMW M3 GTS parts). I did the same thing with the M3 Edition side gills (see M3post) but managed to get them only because these were a mainstream part and not created via Individual. I'd love to be wrong so here is the details that I have: Quote:

oh sorry parts above are for the front grills. Now fixed:
Yes I have lots of contacts also but none of them will help me with this because its individual. Part numbers: 7 845 263 00 Grill, side panel, front, left, dark chrome 7 845 264 00 Grill, side panel, front, right, dark chrome but they are not listed in _any_ BMW parts database. if you can get them get 2 sets please! Neil.

Good info
Mine is on contract hire so has to go back as delivered, so don't want to paint. I want the black kidney grills OEM, side indicators IND (markers) but I'm struggling with the door handles, which may have to stay as is, but worried they may look odd if left, what d'ya think? |

I think the best option for them is to wrap them. which I'm having done next week. Paul had his done (not sure the MCB suits the black mind)
I am going to try the black and if it looks pants then go white.

7 845 261 00 and 7 845 262 00 doesn't exist. Also the ones quoted above doesn't exist? Can you re-check and advise numbers and I can give it another go with them. Thanks Last edited by M5nut; 01-04-2014 at 06:18 AM.. |

see above where I said you won't find it on any BMW parts database ! That is the part number that I got from BMW M Individual in Munich.
Regards, Neil.

Call me mad but I scrolled through all the used M5's for sell on the BMW approved website.
Found one which has the black side fenders. Gave the registration number to the dealer and we have ordered a set. Also the indicators are a separate part hence you only need to buy the main body which clips to the panels and they are approx £67 + VAT each. Parts due in tomorrow so will find out if they are chrome or black finish. I went through pistonheads also today and found a couple of used M5's with black fenders. Interesting fact is that they are all M5 Performance Edition cars with the Piano Black interior trim. |

yup, and the performance car is not a proper BMW AG product. It was specially made by BMW M Individual in Munich for the UK market.
I am sure someone else did what you did and silver grills turned up, but I hope the black ones do turn up. If your service dealer looks at the VIN details of the car you used it will say something about how to order replacement parts which refers to the group I got the above parts numbers and also refers that BMW Group GB needs to order them.
