Late for 1200 mile service
I just called to schedule the 1200 mile service and the first appointment is two weeks away. Should I stop driving the car when I hit 1200 until I have it serviced? Or is it not a big deal if I keep on driving it and it has say 1400 miles on it at the service time? Thanks

It's no big deal. You'll be fine. When I had 900 miles on my car I took a road trip up to Vegas, from Phoenix. I asked my service advisor if I should come in early for the 1,200 appointment or come in late. Round trip was about 500 miles and they said to come in late.
I had mine done at 1,400 miles. Of course, I also pushed my car a bit during the break in service, so that makes me "one of those people".

My dealer pulled that crap on me and I pushed back politely, explaining that I paid $120K for the car, they mandate the service and I should not be left without a car for 2 weeks. I got a call back 15 minutes later with an appointment that week.

I don't know about the US, but in the UK (At least when I had my E60 M5) and they had the oil filter issue, I reached 1200 and they couldn't service it, and I was told that I must not exceed 1500 miles or it would impact the warranty on the engine. Although it does not state it in the manual, BMW did issue me a later stating it

I took mine in late this week too at 1,590 miles. No issues from dealership at all regarding being over mileage.
