Fading Brake Caliper Replacement

Hello Everyone,

Has anyone successfully completed the replacement of brake calipers under warranty for the paint and M logo discoloration.

I know a few members had this completed under warranty, and I'm working with a member on sourcing their paperwork for it.

Anyone else had this completed. Your input is appreciated.

Thanks

Sorry man. I tried at my dealership and they determined - "BMW DECLINED REPAIR DUE TO SEEING OUTSIDE INFLUENCE CAUSING FADED LOGO."

If you are able to get the paper work on a successful replacement, let me know. However, they fixed my squealing brake issues.

If you are the original owner of the car and are still under warranty I would be a complete nuisance to the dealer and BMW till my needs were addressed. Particularly if you have CCBS.

is the logo fading, or the caliper paint itself?

if you are cleaning the wheels with some aggressive cleaner, cut it out.

What did they consider outside influence ?

Both. It seems like the blue has turned light blue and the logo has black swirl marks on it. It may be from high temps from hard braking. Car is at dealer now. Let's see what happens.

What did they end up doing to fix your squealing brakes? I've had this issue for the longest time.

It's a correlation...the M fading -- harbinger of the depreciating fading value of the F10 M5, couldn't resist
I'm being a d!ck, but trying to be a bit snarky...BMW should stand by the product. I saw a used 2013 with the same issue. I asked the dealership why it wasn't taken care of by CPO, response was it was natural wear and tear and hey all do that sooner or later.

Yeah, it was starting to split at the bottom left and top side of the steering wheel. I debated, if I should have had them replace it with a M performance wheel, but the cost was still pretty high up there. Rather spend it on some MSR air intakes or V3 coilovers.
