The M5 wasn't made to compete with an F3 car, Mclaren, F430, etc. Not fair to criticize it's weight/steering/brakes in comparison to these purpose built sports cars...

Never heard of the BAC Mono before - pretty damn cool.

Sorry.. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings oh mighty master SANguru, i threw the lol in there to make it seam as friendly of a suggestion as possible. Only after your reply post did i realize you have the experience with tracking the M5, but call me ignorant, biased, or die hard fan, i still stand by the M brand as being the best thing since purple drink four the money and even though Ferrari is nice, i can't see it being a dd, weekend warrior, cruiser, etc... That's where my claim of the M5 being more than just alright is stemming from... Your opinion of it being alright,... well i guess everyone has their opinions, when you're comparing a 2 ton sedan to a super car that's three times the price, half the comfort, and half the weight. Dunno.... Call me what you will.

SANGuru seems like he doesn't think straight. First he calls his M5 his daily beater and that its good for nothing more. This on a board of M5 fanatics. Second if you have a portfolio of superb sports cars, it would make much more sense to have something more dependable as a daily beater - something that won't break down - a Lexus or even a Porsche for example.

Well maybe he wants an M5? Why does it make sense (for someone I'm guessing you don't know) to have a Porsche and not an M5 as a DD if he has a couple of great sport cars in the garage? That makes no sense at all.

And I didn't know the F10 M5 was not dependable and broke down all the time.

It appears to me that some people are this forum are a bit touchy. I quite surprised where this post went. While it was amusing at times, all I was trying to say is I found this gentlemen to be weird. This didn't happen at a light or while doing 80 on the highway. We were both right next to each other stationary. My car is MCB with bright aluminum wheels. It might as well had strobe lights on it. For the guy to not even glance over is weird...maybe he's a introvert or a one man wolf pack.

If any one's ego was bruised, i apologize for that. I was only trying to share, and last i checked this was an M5 forum not Ferrari chat or luxury 4 play.... So if the M5 is just an ok car, what is a 7 SERIES BIMMER? The equivalent of a maxima? Some people just don't get it. Maybe its us??? Maybe we're the weirdos? Lol

Don't sweat it man. This is a forum for cars $100k+, Every once and awhile it can turn into a dick measuring contest.

Yeah. My bad, im here for one thing guys and that's to share my love for the BMW brand. Sorry if it got out of hand... I enjoy everyone's company/input here and sometimes you don't realize you got carried away. Not trying to start any feuds that's for sure... not my style.

Statistically Porsche and Lexus are the top two most reliable car brands on the market. BMW is third quartile. And within BMW the F10 is quite far down the list. Source JD Powers and Consumer Reports.

funny.. again maybe you're not thinking straight. Every brand has it's problems. Porsche had their RMS issues. Lexus had their sludging and carbon issues. I have owned every iteration of the M5 with the exception of the E28. Is it a good daily? absolutely. Is it the best track car out there or even a weekend car? depend on what poison you choose. It can double up as both for some. For others, we choose a different weapon.

Opinion is like ass.. everybody's got one. I'm entitled to mine as you are to yours. But if somebody decides to tell me that maybe I would know that my M5 is more bada$$ if I took it out on the track without knowing what I own and how I drive, I gotta laugh at that.

I have 8500 miles on my M5. I don't have any of the problems that you guys have with the exception of the occasional rattle from the rear. Mine is reliable.

So to get pissed and start calling people names just because they don't wave back to strangers that happens to have a car of the same brand is a bit childish imo.

You think they are wierd for not waiving. They probably think you are wierd for waiving.

Protious, do you think this moron who moved his car away from you didn't realize that you had an M5. If I was to park my car (getting 2014 LCI M5) all by itself in a parking lot I would be thrilled to have another car like mine parked next to me, only because I know that the other driver will not slam his door into mine. Some people are idiots with a silver spoon stuck up there &ss.
