112 Status, last chance for full vs extended leather

I have an ED M5 on order, SG, B&O, DAP, 20", exec pkg. I had initially configured it with Cohiba extended, but I felt at $5,000 and not have a leather dash was a bad use of money and opted to extended black since I did not want to have to deal with the leather maintenance on the dash and felt the black was more classic and went better with the gray. My CA told me today my car is now on 112 status, so this is my last chance, actually he did not change the leather to extended, has it now at full black. So, I am on the fence, I have read everything about leather interiors there is to read here(specially stealthpilot's helpful posts), and can't make up my mind. I understand going full with Silverstone or Sakhir, but felt there was not much of a visual difference with the black full to justify the $3,500 and gain a maintenance headache, as I do not see myself applying conditioner to the dash every 2-3 weeks, like some here do or suggest. I will try to go to the dealer to see if they have examples of both. I am not sure if what I need is justification/validation to splurge or some common sense. Help please.

Go full leather. It's such a classy look. You won't be disappointed.

Full leather all the way. I had it in my 750i and only have extended in my M5. I miss it.

Full is the only way to go. First time I have had it and I will never go back.

I spent the 3500.00, and I absolutely love the leather dash which is awesome. I have had the car since September ED, and nom issues what so every. It looks very classey, and sets the car apart from many others in this class. You can clearly see the difference in non vs. full leather. I went with black as it was the best for the Sakhir Orange exterior. Good luck.

Ok, you have convinced me and made me $3500 poorer. Now would you do dark wood or anthracite?

I went with extended leather only because I just didn't want an orange dash and seatbacks. I know many say it's the way to go, but for me too much Sakhir. I do love the leather dash however.

The two choices really do make a difference. The dark wood provides more of a luxury look. Anthracite is a much more serious/sporty look. I like the anthracite.

I made the same decision for the same reason.

Definitely full leather. A plastic dash with a fake leather grain that doesn't even match the actual leather grain is something that has no place in a 100k car IMO. Those cars just look unfinished to me.

Regarding wood I like anthracite over dark wood. But if you are getting black leather then I would suggest the Aluminum trim. It will provide some contrast to the interior and it has a very nice machined texture which is awesome and very modern.

Of all the options to me it was one you would always notice. Some like the the B and O, but when I drive I turn off the music so I can hear the engine roar. It's a weekend car for me to enjoy what this thing can do, and I smile every time I start this machine up. Good luck with your choices. Full leather, 20" wheels, HUD worked out for me.

I think that both the Sakhir and Silverstone interiors suffer from the "too much" problem in full leather, but I also think full leather is an absolute must. That leaves only black amoung standard interiors.

I see your point, agree is more of a contrast, but I have never been a fan of the aluminum trim and I am going full black with the anthracite, more of a subdued look, which I prefer. Thank you for your posts, they helped me a lot to understand the differences in full vs extended vs ind extended.

Due to the color of my car being SO I went with aluminum. With SG I would go with anthracite. Not a fan of dark wook in the M5 ..................looks too stuffy. Try piano black which is pretty hot. That was my first choice, but it would have delayed my ED. Good luck.

I've never been a fan of the fake wood, but for some reason got it on my C63 - biggest regret. I think aluminum suits the sportiness of the M5 perfectly, especially with the contrast of black leather. But sounds like you prefer less contrast.
