What did you trap in the 1/2 mile? Curious because of the 174mph trap from the VT3 e92 on the front page.

He couldn't have trapped more than 155mph since he still has the limiter on his M5, as we all do.

I don't care what anyone says, the F80 M3 will never look as sexy on the track as this.

Nope not even close . Those guys who think the M4 will be an easily tunable platform are in for a rude awakening . I can't believe he thinks someone will get a single turbo and a standalone ECU to work for 700 hp out of the gate on stock internals lol . The lack of knowledge on the forum is so frustrating . And the owner of the new F80 saying even the DCT was better when it's the exact same unit is hilarious . People wanting to trade in their M5/6 for a 3600 lb 420 hp car lol . Of course he's going to like it more he sold his M6 and bought the F80 sight unseen ! It's like he's in a new relationship , it always makes the girl hotter than she really is .

Dude! You said it! "Stock Internals" being the key thing you stated. There's a lot of hysteria and euphoric hopefulness going on, on that side of the forum right now. I say let them have their day though. It's all good, the F80 M3 is going to be a great car for what it is and for what it was designed to do. You're right it is the same exact DCT, just the software is a little different re-calibrated for that drive train. But the sad truth is, that it will not be an easily tunable platform, just like the M5/M6 has not been either. It's taken almost 2 years to get where Greentrbo95gst has been with his M5 performance wise. They need to understand that Rome wasn't built in a day, but on average the age demographic for that car is a little younger and they think they can be superman right from the beginning. I personally don't think I will ever get one because I already have an M5. If I had kept my E60 M5 and wanted a second car, I would sure consider it, but then it's like what do I need 2 sedans for? I'd rather get a Porsche 991 GT3, R8, or McLaren 12C, if we're talking sports cars to park in the garage with my M5.

For right now, I just like to lol at their lack of knowledge. They'll start learning within the next 6 months though. Oh and you better believe that come this summer when F80's and F82's start hitting the streets that I'll be on the hunt to find one to race. Lol!

I think BMW went in the right direction with dropping weight and they had to drop displacement and # of cylinders to follow where planet earth is heading, efficiency and clean air. We sacrifice a lot as car sport enthusiasts on the sound front, but cars are lighter and quicker. Look at Formula 1 cars. We are on race 4 of the season and people are still complaining about the way new cars sound.
Personally, I didnt agree with the F80 reviewer on many aspects, but I guess everyone has a right to their own opinion and I decided not to post.
It's a great looking car and I am pretty sure it will be quicker around track than the m5, but let's remember that the m5 serves more purposes than the m3. I personally went through e39 m5, e60 m5 and now the F10 and I never owned an m3. I just like big school buses that go nuts when you want them to. I do have a e46 still sitting in the garage, but it's a non M. With that said, the reviewer should have never compared the f12 to the f80 because each of them serves a different purpose. If he wants 1000 hp out of stock internals go get a 93 Supra and call it a day.

Comfort suspension mode. Helps with transferring more weight to the back wheels and not losing as much traction.

Oh yea, not much weight shifts as shocks rebound immediatly and fire dept comes out from all the smoke from your tires.

I'm just afraid apples to apples option wise the weight will be within 40 lbs or less . My friends well optioned 2012 CP M3 coupe with DCT weighed 3600 even .with a full tank of gas . I guess since the car is bigger it's better than it gaining weight , but I was genuinely excited for 3300 pounds . I was actually considering it as a replacement for my supercharged Z4m track car down the road but not anymore . The 3200 pound Z4M especially after solid bushings , 30/60/90 variable ramp two clutch diff , coilovers , and with 525 hp at 8100 rpm is going to stay with me till she dies. It's driving nirvana.

I think it will take a few generations for stock ///M cars to get down below 3,200lbs from the factory. And even then 3,200lbs is heavy when considering something to be a pure track toy. I owned an S54 Z3M back in the day and it was fun, and I even once considered buying a Z4M Roadster with an ESS Supercharger on it, but decided it wasn't the car for me.
