Ok. After 4 months of ownership, I
have concluded that comfort mode is crap. That is all. I'm glad I got that off my chest. Carry on. |

Comfort throttle setting? Or?
It's good for bad driving conditions (heavy rain) or even when your driving in a crowded pedestrian area. The tech in our cars is very quick. Every time you enter the car you can slide a finger down all three driving buttons (throttle, suspension, steering).

I use comfort mode on the suspension for travel across concrete bridges that have the undulating wave effect. It dampens it a lot better than sport or sport+. Otherwise, you get the uh-uh-uh-uh-uh effect.

Comfort is nice for highway driving. I can find other ways to punish myself than drive 100km in sport+.

'Comfort' mode will also very much depend on the quality of the roads you have. In the UK comfort mode is not comfortable at all compared to a non M car, buts its more comfortable than the sports modes

I would think the comfort setting would be beneficial if trying to get the most traction off the line. Might be negligible, but that's what I was told at a AMG driving event. Curious to see side by side results if it makes a difference.
And personally I like the comfort setting for the steering response for every day driving. At least with the comp pack equipped. |

Other than the crappy roads of winter, I literally never use it (other than trying out Launch Control and trying for better traction). I am not in my car 2 seconds before I hit an M button, neither of which uses the Comfort suspension setting...which is what I assume you are referring to.
Funny post though |

Comfort (economy) throttle/tran can get you in trouble in the city it is only good on highway IMO comfort steering me is the best at all times. Comfort suspension is best too for DD
All comfort but D3 and sport plus throttle for DD that's my new M1 |

I don't have cp, and here r my observations of comfort mode:
1. The throttle is sluggish. The car feels like a fatso. 2. The suspension is floaty. Lots of body roll on curves 3. The steering is too loose. |

Ha! Nope, just a humble, hockey-loving Canadian with a gorgeous ride (M5, not my wife who is lovely but just a little temperamental and not much of a speed demon!). How's that for a little double entendre on the big board!
I love Texas though. Real solid place and people. |

I drive in sports + & D2 when I am by myself, but when there are passengers, I drive in comfort mode so they enjoy the ride more.

I personally like the ability to change the ride on demand.
Isn't the M5's ability to have a Dr Hekyl, Mr Hyde dual persona one of its key attributes? For me that was a big selling point. But hey... To each his own.
