Fast 1/4 mile

Just goes to show you can make anything fast. Guess we should all give up on waiting for that tune on our M5's and M6's which will make 800hp. I also once had a friend who had a Civic that made up to 650hp to the wheel FWD.

Nice run by your buddy! But I have to admit, when I saw the new thread and you as the author, I thought 'Great, he ran his M5 at the track and the results must have been good given that title!' So I was a bit disappointed...

Haha, soon, very soon I am going to the track and see what the car can do. I will do a run with stock tires and also some DR's

Had to suffer through too much fluff before the time was revealed. It's not THAT much fun watching an evo spittle and spurt it's way through the 1/4 over and over.

I also had the same thought as Tom - figured your DP'd M5 laid down a low 11 or something.

agree. i was expecting to see an m5 and then instead i saw that... well whatever car that was, and was like - yeah great, who cares...

At the end of the day we are all some kind of car enthusiasts and IMHO automobile industry should be appreciated by all of us.
The car was a MItsubishi Lancer Evolution, very well known in the Rally world with great history behind it. My friend worked on this project for the last 7-8 yrs and the car went from 280 crank hp to 1000hp out of a 4 cylinder engine with no nitrous. It's a huge achievement to be in the low 9's, therefore, I wanted to share my excitement for him with you guys since the this is the board I frequently visit.

no worries. I would love for the m5 to run a 9, but it's never gonna happen. Maybe if a jet pulls me down the track.
